MPS is excited to welcome several new members to our Administration Team and to announce the return of the MPS Administrative Mentee Program
Administration Hires
Anna Wamack - Associate Superintendent of Facilities, Finance, and Operations
Anna Wamack comes to MPS with experience in educational leadership, specifically in school business operations, including strategic planning and fiscal management. She also has experience in all aspects of grant operations, including the development of budgets and oversight of the financial processes associated with grants. Anna previously served as Director of Business Operations for Hemlock Schools, and is highly respected by her peers for her knowledge of school finance. She is the 2024 Business Official of the Year award recipient from Michigan School Business Officials and is currently in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at Central Michigan University. Anna has a strong connection to our community as a MPS graduate and mother of two, Matthew and Alex, and she will bring strategic financial guidance to the district. She would like to share this message with the MPS community:

I look forward to utilizing my experience to support our students, staff, and families, ensuring that our district continues to flourish and excel."
Dr. Kenneth Weaver - Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Ken Weaver comes to MPS with experience in various school leadership and administrative roles. At Oxford Community Schools, he served as Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, and Principal. Ken was instrumental in developing and implementing curriculum from Developmental Kindergarten through 12th grade. He also developed a systemic approach to a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for his district and helped implement the IB PYP, MYP, and DP programs. Ken is highly respected among his peers and is known for his outstanding leadership and care for people. After leaving Oxford, Ken completed a year as assistant principal and athletic director at Bay City Schools and valued that opportunity to reconnect with students. He is eager to share his passion for leading and improving the academic opportunities provided to students through teaching and learning. Ken and his wife Cari have four children - three currently in college and one a junior in high school. He would like to share this message with the MPS community:

Pamela Lawrence - Special Services Supervisor
Pamela Lawrence comes to MPS with extensive experience as a Special Education Administrator supporting students and communities with complex needs. Her experience includes collaborative work across center-based, self-contained, resource room, and inclusion programs. Pamela successfully collaborated across local districts to provide a full continuum of services and placements for students from birth through age 26. She has experience working in Flint Community Schools, the Pontiac School District, and Stepping Stones Group - an agency that provides special education support to schools. Pamela is known and respected by colleagues for her focus on students and her desire to support staff. During the 2023-24 school year, she supervised the launch of her district’s Early Childhood Special Education program and successfully navigated the audit of this new program with positive outcomes. Pamela looks forward to strengthening our district’s relationship with parents and advocating for students with disabilities in our community. Pamela and her husband, Andrew, have a lovable son, David, who is the inspiration for her career in special education. She would like to share this message with the MPS community:

Administrative Mentee Hires
We are also excited to share that we have rekindled the MPS Administrative Mentee Program for the 24-25 school year. The mentee position is designed to provide learning and growth opportunities for current MPS staff considering a future career in school administration. The mentees will be assigned to various schools to engage in multiple projects and tasks and be mentored by current administrators. We are excited to share the following administrative mentee appointments for the 24-25 school year.
Alyssa Brown - Elementary Administrative Mentee
Alyssa is currently employed as a Resource Room Teacher at Chestnut Hill Elementary. Prior to her current position, she was employed through the Midland ESA as an ASD Categorical Classroom Teacher. Alyssa has participated in various trainings and programs, including the Aspiring Leaders for 2023-24 and the MICIP Team. She is currently completing her second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Saginaw Valley State University. She also serves on the School Success Team for Chestnut Hill. Alyssa will be placed at Central Park and Adams for the 24-25 school year.
Jennifer Pedelty - Secondary Administrative Mentee
Jennifer is currently employed as a Learning Coach at Midland High School. Prior to her current position, she was a Teacher Leader, History Teacher, and Electronic Learning Facilitator at Jefferson Middle School. Jennifer has participated in various trainings and programs, including the Aspiring Leaders for 2023-24 and the MICIP Team. She also serves as a National Honor Society Adviser for Midland High. Jennifer will split her time between Northeast and Jefferson for the 24-25 school year.
