ALBION WOMEN'S LACROSSE 2025 Season Preview

Despite the two day delay, the Albion College women’s lacrosse team prepares to begin its 2025 season on Monday night. After finishing fourth in the MIAA a season ago, Albion returns its top three scorers, posing as threats with another year of experience under their belts.

Second year head coach Emily DiRado returns following a 7-9 resume in her first season. She has added alumna Alexis Robinson to the staff, the 2022 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, her younger sister and two-time All-MIAA honoree Audrey DeWaters has joined the coaching staff.

The Britons will be led by senior Kyndall Lewis in the midfield. Lewis led Albion in nearly every category a season ago, scoring 42 goals and adding 11 assists en route to an All-MIAA campaign. 12 of her 42 goals came off free position shots. Lewis also controlled 30 draws, picked up 31 ground balls and caused 16 turnovers in 2024.

Senior attacker Aaliyah Eudabe is back, coming off a year where she scored 39 goals and dished out 14 assists, controlling 21 draws. Logan Hutchinson is back as well, contributing 33 goals and nine assists as a sophomore in 2024. Hayla-Lyn Gilly is another veteran attacker DiRado and the Britons will lean on this season.

Joining Lewis in the midfield will be Kellie Flynn and Ellen Chown. Flynn, a senior, scored 21 goals in 2024 and controlled 34 draws. Chown enters her junior year after a 13 goal year a season ago.

Defensively, senior Julia Ames returns as a four year starter. Ames has been an integral part of Albion’s defense, often guarding the best attackers in the league. In 2024, Ames caused 25 turnovers and scooped up 43 ground balls. Fellow seniors Natalie Sweetland and McKenna Shearer are back, as well as sophomore Darby Conerly.

Nicole Miller has been tremendous in goal throughout her first two seasons as a Brit. Last year, she earned All-MIAA accolades, going 7-9 and making 148 saves. DiRado has added freshman Kyleigh Johnson to the goalkeeper lineup as well.

After a minor schedule change, Albion begins the 2025 season on Monday night at Siena Heights. It will be their lone game before three games out west when the Britons travel to California for their spring break trip. On Mar. 15, the Britons will have their home opener with a 1 p.m. game against John Carroll.

MIAA action begins on Apr. 1 at Saint Mary’s College. All of the games slated in April are conference competitions, with the regular season wrapping up Apr. 22 against Alma. Last season, the Britons knocked off the Scots in Alma to clinch a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
