Principal's Message
Welcome to Week 6,
On Sunday, as our Catholic community celebrated the Ascension of the Lord, we reflected on Jesus's return to heaven and His commissioning of the disciples to share His message with the world. It’s a powerful reminder of the incredible journey we share here at school. Just like those first disciples, we're all about nurturing and empowering our kids to step out into the world with confidence, kindness, and a strong sense of purpose. Every day, we see your children growing into amazing young people, ready to make their mark. We're so blessed to partner with you in this vital journey, fostering a school community filled with Welcome, Faith, Service and Learning.
Our sincere congratulations to the fifteen exceptional Year 6 students who received their Confirmation this past Saturday evening. Echoing Bishop Mark's gratitude, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all families and staff members whose dedication and guidance were instrumental in evangelising and preparing these young people for this significant final sacrament of initiation.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to all our parents for your understanding and support regarding our upcoming Staff Spirituality Day this friday. This day is crucial for our educators as it allows them to reflect, renew, and reconnect with our school's values and ethos. Time dedicated to staff spiritual development ensures that our team remains passionate and inspired, which in turn benefits our students' learning experience. We appreciate your understanding and support regarding pupil-free days, as we know they can certainly present childcare challenges.
Have a great week,
Josh Gaynor

Friday 6th June - Holy Spirit Staff Spirituality Day - Pupil Free Day
Every year, all schools in the Wagga Wagga Diocese hold a Spirituality formation Day for their staff. This annual event provides an opportunity for staff to strengthen their relationship with their faith and continue to develop their professional knowledge about the Catholic faith.
In 2025, the Catholic Church is celebrating an Ordinary Jubilee Year, proclaimed by Pope Francis under the theme "Pilgrims of Hope." This Jubilee officially began on December 24, 2024, with the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica, and will conclude on January 6, 2026 . The Jubilee Year is a time of spiritual renewal, reconciliation, and pilgrimage.
Our staff will be undertaking a pilgrimage, starting at Holy Spirit Church, moving to Immaculate Heart of Mary in Thurgoona, then to St Patrick’s in Albury and finishing by visiting the Mary MacKillop marker, which is a Diocesan pilgrimage site.

Congratulations to all our Year 6 students who have recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation! This significant milestone marks your deepening commitment to your faith and the strengthening of your relationship with God. We are proud of your journey and look forward to witnessing the positive impact you will make as you continue to grow.
First Communion
The next Sacrament will be First Communion for the Catholic Year 3 students. More information will come out about this early next term.

First Walk to School Day for Years 3–6
Last Friday, our Years 3–6 students took part in our very first Walk to School Day — and what a wonderful way to start the day! It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces walking alongside friends, families, and teachers. The event created a great sense of energy and community spirit.
A big thank you to Mr Furness and the SRC for organising this fantastic initiative to promote healthy habits, daily exercise, and a stronger school community.

Challenges in Getting Successful Treatment (information from The Child Mind Institute)
When you have a child who’s struggling, and you’ve gotten a diagnosis and started treatment, you hope it will be smooth sailing from there. Sometimes it is. But sometimes the first diagnosis isn’t right, the first therapist isn’t a good match, or the medication isn’t working as well as you hoped. It can take persistence before you succeed with mental health treatment, and as parents, you may have to make some tough decisions.
This week we’re rounding up resources to help you recognise whether your child is getting good care, and when it’s time to make a change. We offer tips for working with kids who are resisting treatment or not bonding with their therapist. For kids who are taking medication, we tackle some of the challenges: getting the right dose, multiple medications, and how to safely take children off meds. And when it’s time to end therapy, we have advice for how to go about it.
