Ethan O'Brien's Photoshop Portfolio G3 CGD
For my first project in Photoshop, I created a post card. I leaned how to use gradients, text effects, and how to put images in text. For my post card I chose Orlando, Florida, and I wanted to caputer my experiences from visiting into the post card. By my standards, I would say I did so, but by no means is it the greatest card I’ve seen. Though, I do wish people to try and do Photoshop, because even I can do it.
For a photo collage, I tasked myself with creating the visual of the outdoors and fishing. In this process, I learned how to use layer mask and opacityadjustments to put together images. I had hoped to catch my feeling of nature, because my past time is fishing, and with the rockies, it can be awesome to experience the feeling. I feel I executed my idea alright, but as with everything, it could be better. I hope people will be inclined to give nature a try, and to truly experience the outdoors.
For a movie poster I decided to go for a zombies thriller theme, seeing it was around Halloween. During its creation, I learned to deal with color range and color fill. I’m a big fan of the zombie genre, especially video games, and so I thought of creating a poster as such. Of course, it isn’t a high tier poster, but I enjoyed the theme. I do hope people get to create they’re own movie posters, whatever they might be, because it’s fun.
For one of my final projects in Computer Graphic Design, I set myself up to create book covers for one of my more memorable reads, Where The Red Fern Grows. As I did so, I learned how to cut media, as well as add drop shadows & Bevel and Emboss. I wanted to capture my idea of the overall feeling of the book in a simplistic manner. My rendition of the cover is simple, but possibly to plain because of the fern not being fleshed out. Despite that, I do wish for people to read the book if they haven’t already.
