City Council Approves Pre-Approved ADU Plans to Streamline Housing Development
The Temple City Council greenlit a new Pre-Approved Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Program, making it easier for homeowners to add secondary housing units to their properties. The program offers a selection of pre-reviewed ADU designs to expedite the permitting process, reduce costs, and encourage housing development in the community. By eliminating the need for extensive plan checks, homeowners will be able to move forward with their ADU projects more efficiently. Once the city finalizes plan checks and receives submissions from selected designers, the pre-approved designs will be made available on the city's website. Expect this information to be available in the coming months.
For updates and details on the program, check back soon at www.templecity.us/planning.
City Council Approves Illuminated Entry Signs to Welcome Visitors Downtown
Temple City is enhancing its downtown with newly approved decorative illuminated entry signs, following City Council approval. These decorative features are designed to improve visibility and reinforce community identity, welcoming both residents and visitors. Incorporating the camellia pattern from the City’s logo, the signs will define and enhance key entryways to the downtown. This improvement is part of the city's ongoing Las Tunas Drive Streetscape Program, focused on beautifying public spaces while promoting civic pride. Installation is expected to begin later this year.
