Bay of Quinte Business Week October 16-20 Small business, big ideas.

This year at the Bay of Quinte Small Business Week we'll focus on how we can support our small businesses beyond surviving and toward a path of growth and evolution. Discover how diverse and dynamic Ontario's small business climate is while we shed light on the visions that make these businesses possible.

MONDAY OCTOBER 16

11:00am - 12:30pm | Business Week Kick Off | Trent Port Marina

Thinking big, supporting small: We invite you to kick off the week by joining us for a presentation from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). President & CEO Isabelle Hudon will speak on solutions for today’s business challenges.

Learn how four successful local women entrepreneurs have faced similar challenges.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18

1:00 - 2:30pm | Stepping in and Stepping Up - Bystander no more | Picton Town Hall, 2 Ross St.

Participants will have an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of JEDI and how it contributes to innovation. They will also learn how to spot various forms of discrimination and prejudice and learn how to respond to these appropriately. Central to this work will be growing understanding of gender and gender-based violence as it is experienced by women, girls, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The responses to prejudice and violence that participants will learn will be respectful of the person experiencing the prejudice as well as the person enacting (saying, doing, etc.) the discrimination. Participants will have an opportunity to practice these skills by working through a variety of scenarios.

2:30pm - 3:00pm | Money Management | Picton Town Hall

The presentation includes topics such as integrating money positively into your life, exploring the concept of Time and Money, strategies for cash flow and net worth, and the advantages of compound interest, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.

This presentation aims to assist Liquor Licence holders or applicants of Special Occasion Permits in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario's role and the compliance requirements under the Liquor Licence and Control Act and its Regulations.
