2025 Global exchange Project for teachers

Pathways to Cross-Cultural Understanding

The Global Exchange Project for Teachers (GEPT) is a collaborative initiative between the Jeonbuk State Office of Education and Pathways to Cross-Cultural Understanding (PCCU), designed to promote creativity, global competence, and multicultural understanding among educators. In 2025, GEPT launched its pilot program with two art teachers, Nicolette Hernke and Gahwi Han. Through this pilot, the teachers exchanged lesson plan ideas and implemented each other’s approaches in their own classrooms, creating a meaningful cross-cultural teaching experience. Below, you can explore the results of this cross-cultural teaching exchange.

Part 1: What is the visual culture of Minnesota, of Cannon Falls? - Cultural Climate of Cannon Falls Examples

Visual Culture

Visual culture is the aspect of culture expressed in  visual images. There are many aspects of another culture that are visible, such as styles of dress, styles of architecture and built environment, food, religion, and arts. These tend to be the first things people comment on when they go abroad (understandable, as they are most visible) and the things they seek to find.
