Meeting In-Person @ 3-4:30pm
Gorgas Library Camellia Room (Rm 2020)
See you next week!
This month's assembly will be held at the Camellia Room (2020) in Gorgas Library in-person for the first time in ages!
In order to better equip OCTSA members with the knowledge and resources available to us as UA staff, we have scheduled a Harbor training session presented by the Women and Gender Resource Center. The purpose of Harbor is to create safe places all over campus where victims of secual assault, domestic/dating violence and stalking can go to receive assistance. Through the training, participants will gain insight and sensitivity to the issues of interpersonal violence. Further, participants will be made aware of the resources available to victims in order to better provide information to those in need. Upon completion of the training, you will receive a certificate that can be displayed in your office signifying your professional development.
It's also a great reason to get out of the office!

Looking for more involvement? There are four internal OCTSA committees that you can join to help support the efforts of OCTSA as a whole.
The OCTSA also sends non-voting representatives to UA Standing Committees who bring valuable information back to our monthly assembly meetings.
Feel free to read about the internal OCTSA committees here.

To do:
Book Drive
For the month of February, OCTSA will be collecting books to donate to The House Tuscaloosa, a used bookstore located in a historic home on the Stillman College campus.
The House Tuscaloosa was started by two pastors who intentionally left traditional local church ministry to serve the forgotten and an educator with a lifelong dream of opening a used bookstore.
Their mission is to promote and develop literacy in The West End Community in three areas: educational, musical & spiritual. They have created a "third space", or a place of community, while operating as a used book store to provide literature at a reduced price and to fund their organization.
If you have any books to donate, we will begin collecting them next month! They are in need of books for all ages and in all topics, but would love to have more books written by African American authors on their shelves.
Drop-off and pick-up locations on campus will be announced soon!
