Grading new starting qbs After week 4

T-#9: Cam Ward

Cam Ward and the Titans have not had a great start at all going 0-4 and having the worst offense in the league but how has Cam Ward himself done? So far i would call his performances reckless. I feel like he really doesn’t make normal throws which is an exaggeration and makes wild throws sometimes and it makes it look kind of like a show. His arm talent is amazing but he has to get better accuracy and stop throwing interceptions.

Prediction: Cam Ward ends season with 10+ Interceptions

Grade: D

T-#9: Joe Flacco

Yes he just got benched but this still has to be made. Flacco is all the Browns had to start and obviously it’s same old Flacco. Great accuracy, and loves him some check downs. There isn’t much to say about Flacco besides nothing has really changed and I will have to put him at 8th

Prediction: Not much because he’s a backup

Grade: D

7th: Russel Wilson

Yes he just got benched too and possibly this could be his last time as a starting QB besides maybe if a teams starting QB gets injured and it was clear that the Giants had no plans for Russel Wilson after drafting a QB in the 1st round and now that Russel has disappointed he’s more than likely gone. He has shown some of his dynamics that he once had on the Seahawks which he can still throw pretty accurately short, but he still misses open receivers a lot. Russel only played good against the Cowboys but the Cowboys defense has not been goo

Prediction: Either is a long term backup or gets traded to somewhere who needs a QB.

Grade: D+

6th: Carson Wentz/JJ McCarthy

After the game vs the Steelers Carson Wentz didn’t play bad at all. He had 350+ yards, 3 TDs, and both of his interceptions were tipped at the line. With Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson he has a great receiving core and his ability to read defenses is outstanding and if he plays well against the Browns defense I think he keeps the starting job. For JJ McCarthy you really can’t blame him for the game against the Falcons. He didn’t have Darrisaw, and other offensive linemen, and JJ isn’t the biggest guy so it’s hard when the pocket closes in on him. I hope JJ McCarthy has a better future after a getting a full year of coaching from Kevin O’Connell.

Prediction: JJ McCarthy won’t start against the Browns but he will play the rest of the season and will need the season as a top-20 QB.

Grade: C-

5th: Justin Fields

Justin Fields is a scrambler. He’s one of the few QBs in the league that can turn a broken play into a 15 yard run. But Justin Fields is not accurate at all. Some of it is him scrambling making it hard to throw on the run. Currently Justin Fields cannot lead an offense that can consistently score points. Justin Fields is a great deep ball thrower in my opinion and if he can go deep just a bit more than I think the Jets can start winning.

Prediction: The Jets lose the Division and Justin Fields doesn’t return to the Jets

Grade: C-

4th: Aaron Rodger’s

While he was in Green Bay he was faster in the pocket but as he ages, now with the Steelers he can’t move outside the pocket as he used to which leads to more throw aways. Rodger’s is still awesome at reading defenses, and creating big plays, and he is great at finding open receivers. Rodger’s has led the Steelers to 3-1 and Rodger’s has had some good games so far. He has a tough schedule coming up against the Ravens twice, the browns twice, so this is my prediction:

Prediction: Rodger’s slowly declines throughout the season but the Steelers still end with a winning record

Grade: C+

3rd: Geno Smith

Geno Smith is one of the most accurate passers in the league right now and he has a perfect spiral and even though the Raiders are 1-3 the Raiders have played better than I have expected and I give that to Geno Smith. Geno is usually a calm passer and whenever the game gets sped up for him or the pocket is closing he makes more errors in his game. Geno has been great this year and he is way better than anybody lower on this list.

Prediction : Geno ends the season as a top 15 QB

Grade: B

2nd: Sam Darnold

Sam is 13th in passing yards so far and the Seahawks offense doesn’t seem to stop scoring anytime soon. Sam Darnold is 3rd in success’s rate this year with 55%. Sam Darnold is a great passer but when he is under pressure it seems like he has no clue what he’s doing. If the Seahawks offense line can be great the Seahawks are playoff contenders. Sam Darnold loves to throw the ball downfield which was great with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and he is lucky to now have JSN to throw too who has been one of the top receivers this year.

Prediction: Sam Darnold ends top 15 in passing yards and the Seahawks get a winning record.

Grade: B+

1st: Daniel Jones

I feel like a lot of people have to apologize to Daniel Jones including me because Daniel Jones has revived the Colts. They started 3-0 and they lost to the Rams because Adonai Mitchell dropped it before the endzone. He is 2nd in success’s rate this season with 56%, and he is 3rd in EPA. Daniel is top 5 in QBR, 3rd in passing yards and 5th in passing yards a game, 4th in completion percentage. He has revived the Colts and his stats are amazing.

Prediction: Colts win the division

Grade: A
