Dear Parents,
We have really started our end-of-term celebrations in earnest now and I would like to open this week's update by saying congratulations to all the children who received their bronze, silver, gold and platinum House Point badges in Celebration Assembly this morning. They have been awarded points for displaying characteristics and attitudes from the full range of our Pupil Profile and it is fantastic to see them embracing it and building their strengths.
Mr Winship also presented Half and Full Colour Sports badges to pupils who have excelled in their attitude, effort and skill in Football this term. It was wonderful to hear about their development and commitment to improving their game and teamwork, not just during matches but in their lessons and PE sessions as well. I am excited to see what Rugby season brings next term!
A final, huge well done goes to Year 6 for being the winning class of the term and to St Patrick's House for winning the termly House Cup, which was presented with great excitement to their House Captain, Adam, this morning. They will all be enjoying a film and a cosy winter treat from Chef Linda as a reward for their efforts.
Earlier this week we were treated to three fantastic performances of this year's Pre-Prep Nativity, Simply the Nativity. The hard work and commitment all the children have put in shone through and they put on a brilliant show; with joyful singing, great acting and comic timing and some heart-warming solos. Well done to them all and thank you to our staff, particularly Mrs Hagyard, for everything that went into bringing it to the stage! It was the perfect start to the festive season at St Edward's.
If you would like to watch the production, we have shared the dress rehearsal via the link below. Only people with the link can view the video and we ask that if you do share it with friends and family, please ensure it is not posted on social media. Thank you and enjoy!
We ended this week's festivities with our Mince Pie Mixer this evening, kindly organised by our brilliant FREDs team. I hope you were able to drop in and enjoy a hot drink, some Christmas treats and a sneak peak of our choir performance ahead of their visit to The Oracle on Tuesday.
Finally, end-of-term reports for Years 1-6 will will be sent out to you via email on Thursday 12 December by 6pm. Nursery and Reception reports will also go live on Tapestry. For Year 1 and above these will cover English, Maths, Science and a Form Tutor comment. Please do let me know if you do not receive them (jonathan.parsons@stedwardsprep.com).
