Author Questions

Q: What would be some of your advice for people who are just starting their web novels? Regarding patience, writing itself, scheduling... Thank you for always providing amazing chapters for us, I appreciate it. Also, how are you these days? I hope fine. - Alexander

A: "While I'm sure there are a lot of tips and tricks you can find online from other authors, one thing from me personally would be to establish a habit of writing. It's easy to get pulled into other aspects of story-crafting and you might never feel ready to start writing and once you do, there is an undeniable pressure since you've put in so much time to crafting this world and story.

Try to not let that happen by just writing different parts of your story on a daily basis and get accustomed to just the very act of writing.

Q: Do you go on vacations and take healthy amounts of time off my dude? You grind a lot writing! - Rave

A: I do! Not as often as I might want, but if I went on as many vacations as I would actually want to go on, then I might not be writing much at all, lol.

Q: Someone on reddit asked a bit ago, what is your opinion on people using your world as the basis of their own story, not just a fanfic but a new story within your created world? - Shawn

A: I think it would be cool! My lawyer would probably just want to make sure to hash things out properly on the legal end of things if it involves copyright stuff.

Q: TBATE is nearing its end, so I am curious whether you have your next series planned out, and if so, what is it about? - Camo7

A: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Q: How are you? - BOOBOOHEAD

A: I'm good! Brie (my second dog) is 10 months old now so we can leave her at home for more than an hour which gives me more freedom to do shit!

Q: How far out from each weekly release do you start writing a chapter? Do you outline much of a chapter before getting to your actual writing? - PrimordialPakWire

A: Sometimes I'll have like 5-6 backlog chapters while other times (like now) I have no backlog chapters. I continue my once a week release schedule because I need the spare time I get from some chapters that were easier for me to write to still meet my "deadlines" for the chapters that take like 4-5 rewrites.

TBATE Questions

Q: Did you have other plans for Sylvia's Core when originally drafting it out? Or was it pretty set that it would be used to honor Sylvia? - Rave

A: I left Sylvia's core as something that I could potentially use later on in the story. I thought about different uses for it and different plot points I could create with it but at the end of it, I thought it was just very human of Arthur to be able to use it to honor Sylvia.

Q: There's one thing I've never understood well: why do mana beasts exist, which are born like this, normal animals like horses and then there are sentient races that are a bit and a bit? The answer could be "because yes", but I have the feeling that there is more and that it concerns the Age of Beasts - Vincent

A: This will be somewhat explained later on in the story ^^

Q: Seeing the notable backlash using his magic had on Seth during his POV chapter, is it safe to say that magic has a similar effect on all humans? Or is the strength of the magic a body can take related to the development of ones core and physical condition, or is it a more innate quality? Like some have strong magic resistance, others don't. - null

A: Backlash is a universal constant for all mages in this universe. Even Alacryans have cores and are born with them. Their cores are purified by the runes, not by practice/meditation. Culturally, they reflect strength based on runes, not core color. So yes, they also experience backlash!

Q: Are we getting official human Sylvie art for the novel? - calledvital

A: Yes. At a certain point, yes~

Q: Will we get a Regis POV before the end of the story? Are there any characters you'd *never* do a perspective for? - PrimordialPakWire

A: Good question! I don't like doing POVs for the sake of them. They need to provide a valuable insight in that time period for me to use them, so we'll see!

Q: Do you ever feel like you’ve locked yourself into story beats from early/recent TBATE? Or like you’ve introduced a story element far too early/late? *cough cough unused djinn orb cough cough* - dragoncommands

A: hmmm, not really? Last time I felt "locked in" to certain aspects of TBATE was Arthur being a quadra elemental and so I decided to flip the script on that. As for the *cough cough unused djinn orb cough cough* the story ain't done yet~
