What's Going On In School?
STEM Week
We had a major hands-on learning week in school last week with STEM week. Students engaged in workshops in AI, Robotics, virtual reality, Big Bear Planetarium and the Nutty Scientists. They completed maths trails around the school, Samhain Workshops and cross class maths and science activities in the hall. A huge thank you to Ms Costello for organising this week and to the parents who volunteered their time to get involved, Inbal Goldberger (AI), Joana Nunes (Architecture), Ann Tighe (computer science) and Damien Kiernan (biomedical Engineering). What a wealth of practical and purposeful learning took place! Thank you!

Both 5th classes will travel to Balbriggan next Tuesday 25th November to engage in music and percussion workshops in the incredible Irish Institute of Music and Song. These workshops will include African Drumming, Beatboxing, Ukelele and Percussion Skills! They are very excited to take part!
Q102 Brekkie's Got Talent
Ms Farrell's 3rd Class were interviewed on Q102 this week for 'Brekkie's got Talent' with Kathryn Thomas. The girls were interviewed first and then performed some poems and songs. It was so much fun!
Message from Uachtarán na hÉireann for MS Reilly's Class
Ms Reilly's second class wrote to our new President, Catherine Connolly, to congratulate her on becoming the new President of Ireland and they received a lovely response:
Nature HeroEs
We've set up a new Nature Hero notice board in our school. If children take any nature photographs, please send them in to parents@stbrigidsgns.ie. We'd love to see them and display them on our Board!
All Things Active
Marathon
Our 5th and 6th class pupils have been taking part in the Marathon Kids programme for the past 7 weeks, building up their fitness, stamina and confidence by running 4 laps around our school each morning. Next Friday, 28th of November, they will complete the final 5km of their full marathon in May Park. We would love to see families and friends there to cheer them on and celebrate this fantastic achievement!
Craobh Ciarán Blitz
On Monday, 17th November, Ms. Flynn’s and Ms. O’Donovan’s First Classes were delighted to take part in an exciting GAA blitz in Craobh Chiaráin. The girls teamed up with pupils from Killester, Raheny, and Clontarf Educate Together to enjoy three friendly matches on the astro pitches beside Parnell Park. During the blitz, the children had the opportunity to showcase the fantastic skills they have been learning with Mikey during their in-school GAA sessions. From confident hand-passes to determined defending, it was wonderful to see their hard work in action! The blitz also offered a lovely chance for the classes to meet and mingle with new friends from other schools. Well done to all the pupils for their great teamwork, enthusiasm, and school spirit.
Olympic Handball
Our school is delighted to be taking part in Olympic Handball Ireland once again this year, with our 5th and 6th class teams set to compete on the 2nd of December at the Sport Ireland Campus National Indoor Arena. Our St. Brigid’s girls have been training with great enthusiasm and are really looking forward to representing the school in this exciting competition. Let’s all wish our girls the very best of luck as they strive to qualify for the Dublin finals—go St. Brigid’s! 💪
