Flowers Beauty

I created a photograph of a flower after rain. This was the first picture I took and edited so a learned a lot about focusing the camera and capturing all the important details. My goal was to capture the textures of the petals, and the droplets of water leftover form the rain. I feel good about this picture, it just feels so peaceful to me. I hope when people look at this, they just feel calm and take in the beauty that nature has to offer.

Joy

I created a picture of a girl twirling around in the sun. From this picture I learned a lot about capturing movement, I had a lot of fails before I was able to get the movement in her hair. My goal was to capture the movement of spinning around, I wanted this piece to embody the joy of dancing. I feel very good about this piece because it is very simple but complicated at the same time. I hope your takeaway from this piece is joy, and taking advantage of the little moments in life.

Way to the Mountain

Way to the Mountain: In this piece I created a photo capturing the greatness of the mountains, focusing on the road to lead to the formation in the back. I learned a lot about trying to capture pictures of the sky, it can be very hard to get the right shutter speed and aperture. My goal was to capture the mountains towering over the houses and streets. There are some things that I might change about the position where I took the picture, but the piece still makes me feel good and happy with the way I was able to capture the clouds. I hope that you’re able to know that there’s always a way to the mountain.

Life in a Fence

Here I have made a piece that focuses on the moss that grows out of a simple fence. I learned a lot about editing color in a way that would make it pop. I really wanted to focus on the color of the moss in this piece. I’m very happy with all the colors in the piece, it’s a picture that’s colors are pleasing to the eye. I hope this picture helps you realize that life can be anywhere if you just go out and look.

The Line Between Rocks

This piece is a photo of the different rocks that are in my backyard. With this piece I was able to learn a lot about focusing the camera and making sure that the picture is clear. My goal with this photo was to capture the details in rocks, and the different colors that each one has. I’m very happy with how the bigger rocks and the separator came out clear, allowing the separation from the smaller rocks. I hope you take away the realization about how detailed and beautiful simple rocks can be.

The Details in the Feathers

I created a texture picture on the decorations that I got from Hoby Lobby. I learned a lot about not getting to close with the camera when trying to take macro pictures. My goal was to get the texture of the hairs on the feather. I feel great about this picture I’m glad that I was able to get the texture. I hope that you’re able to appreciate the tiny details in simple things.

Parts of a Tree

I created a tryptic with pictures of three different trees and combined them to show different parts of a tree. I learned about shading and balance in this piece. My goal was to get pictures of three different trees and put them together to create a picture that represents different parts of a tree. I feel amazing about this piece I really like how it turned out. I hope that you can enjoy this piece as much as I do.

A Cars Reflections

Here I have created a duotone photo with a reflection of the sky on a car. With this piece I learned how to create a duotone photo. My goal was to get a reflection picture using a car. I feel good with how the duotone came out and I love how the sky looks. I hope that you enjoy looking at this picture and that you look for the reflections all around you.

Drops of Greatness

I created a refraction piece of Captain Americas shield. With this project I learned how to take refraction pictures with water, over a picture. The goal was capturing the shield in the little droplets of water. This photo was hard to get but I feel good about how it came out. Hopefully you walk away from this picture thinking about Captain America and how great he is.

Through the Drinking Glass

Here I created a hand colored black and white photo of a refraction of color through a drinking glass. I learned how to hand color a black and white photo which was something I had always wondered about, so that was fun. The goal was to get all the colors that appeared in the original color picture. I feel like this picture could be a little better, but I am still happy with how it turned out. I hope that your able to appreciate how different things can look when seen through different objects.

Childhood

With this project, I created a surreal project using multiple different kid’s toys. With this project, I learned how to use layer masks to edit pictures together. My goal was to create a picture that represented the imagination and magic of childhood. I feel pretty good about this picture especially because this was the first time I’ve ever done something like this. I hope that you can feel the magic that comes with being a kid.

Bubbles of Warmth

With this picture, I created a water and oil photo focusing on warm colors. With this project, I learned how to use oil and water to create cool-looking photos that capture the way water and oil act together. My goal was to try and find different bubbles that were each unique. I feel good with how this piece turned out, especially because it was a lot of trial and error. I hope that you walk away from this wanting to play with oil and water and discover all the different things they can do together.

Stages of Cool Bubbles

In this picture, I created a piece that uses oil and water to show the cool colors on the spectrum. I learned a lot about matching colors that look good together. My goal with this project was to use the oil and water pictures to create a color scheme that looked good together while also highlighting the bubbles that were formed when mixing the two substances. I feel confident with how the colors and bubbles turned out. I hope that you can walk away from this just thinking about all the different color combinations there are in the world.
