This week, we’ve had countless opportunities to apply our math skills through fun and play, and the children have been absolutely loving it! In our lessons, we’ve revisited some important skills—doubling, subitizing, using numbers to write math stories, as well as exploring mass and capacity. It's lovely to watch the children enjoying using these skills independently.
In literacy this week, we’ve responded to an invitation to a ball and done some writing to help the prince find Cinderella. The main focus has been on using finger spaces, full stops, neat handwriting, and we’re starting to work on using capital letters accurately. It’s tricky stuff, but the children are doing fabulously!
There have been many wonderful opportunities for artistic, physical, and emotional development in class. Take a look at the photos below for a brief snapshot of the activities.
We finished the week with some mantle-related ball dancing! It was so sweet to watch the children pair up and try traditional forms of dance. A lovely way to wrap up a busy week.
