BA Photography 3rd year Exhibition at the University of Lincoln

About Exhibition:

InFocus is an exhibition by 3rd-year photography students at the University of Lincoln. This exhibition is a collective form of projects and themes, ranging from motorsports, football, landscapes, wildlife, bowling, abstract and more. There is something for everyone to enjoy. This exhibition is open to the public from 19th May 2026, and the main opening event will take place on 22nd May 2026 from 6 to 8pm.

Location:

The exhibition is located in the Nicola de la Haye (NDH) building. In the photography studio rooms 0003 and 0004. The studio entrance is next to the art shop, down the small corridor. Which can be seen directly forward when walking through the main doors in NDH.

Full Name: Ailis Finnegan Title of Project: Photographing Bondi Description: Created as a response to losing my beloved dog, this work is a meditation on the universal nature of grief, loss, and love; asking the question is there more to documenting these spaces and moments than what only exists visually or physically? Capturing the serenity of natural light and shadow, it accentuates elements quietly awaiting recognition, inviting viewers to adopt a more attentive gaze to what surrounds them. Full Name: Bea Cromarty Title of Project: A distorted view Description: Utilising the unique aspects of film photography, this project will explore derealisation. The work visualises a detached and unreal experience that feels very isolating. Full Name: Daisy Rae Title of Project: Cosplay: Turning costume into an art form Description: From in character performances to DIY crafted props, Cosplay (Costume Play) is an activity that allows anyone to express their interests and skills in a form of costume art. Full Name: Emily Geeves Title of Project: Heritage on Show Description: This photographic series explores stereotypical ‘Britishness’, through public events and displays of performed identity. Adopting a flâneur approach, I revisit the nostalgia evoked from my childhood experiences, re-evaluating familiar and new traditions. Full Name: Holly Elizabeth Marshall Title of Project: Women Bleed Blue Description: The photographs in this series contain religious symbolism to unpack the presence of purity culture in modern advertising., Alongside this I have used a cold dystopian atmosphere, and a repetitive use of colours to represent the shame and stigma surrounding the menstrual cycle and women's bodies in general, and to explore and document women's complicated relationships with faith, specifically Christianity. The images visualise spaces of escape and moments of retreat into your own head, often used to process emotion and navigate the unknown. Full Name: Niall James Meadows Title of Project: Hidden Description: This series explores identity and objectivity through mixed media. By taking street portraits of random people, printing them in black and white, and obscuring the subject’s face with spray paint and photo embroidery. Full Name: Orson Honer Title of Project: Simulated Histories / Projected Futures: Japan Description: This series uses virtual photography to explore past and future Japan. Contrasting a historically detailed reconstruction with a stylised futuristic district, it uses contemporary Japanese photographic aesthetics to question how culture, design, and imagination shape understandings of time, identity and what is accepted as historical or speculative truth. Taking a multi-layered approached and using iPhone cameras and an old Sony Cybershot, this work explores the tension between the ideal and the authentic, inviting us to consider a return to unfiltered, realistic representations. Shot in a series of English Stately Homes, showcasing a model dressed in traditional Hungarian folk wear, the images reveal the tensions around the emotional weight of identity, finding home across borders. Full Name: Will Ball Title of Project: The Steve Steinman Story Description: Photographed throughout the 2026 Vampires Rock: Eternal Love tour, this project documents Steve Steinman’s show from preparation to performance. Combining observational photographs with collected materials, it traces the full process of the production from routine to spectacle, revealing the relentless hard work and the unseen moments of a rockstar on tour. Full Name: Will Pryor Title of Project: Shadows of Industry Description: 'Shadows of Industry' exhibits how once productive sights become spaces of memory, decay and abandonment. Utilising digital and film, these monuments of human ambition are documented and the subsequent decline that follows, displaying the inevitable reclamation nature. ‘Shadows of Industry’ intends viewers to interpret these sites as spaces of reflection.
