What if Van Leeuwen did a repositioning?!

Everyone associates ice cream with kids, but is that always the case? In my Copywriting class, I collaborated with a team to come up with an idea of how we could reposition Van Leeuwen to an older audience. With Van Leeuwen's image and brand identity kept in mind, we investigated creative ways on how Van Leeuwen could further appeal to Millennials, Gen X, and even Baby Boomers.

In this proposal, I worked with classmates in determining what country a new video game based around Basketball could potentially thrive the most in. Through substantial research on both the gaming and sports industry, economic policies, government regulations, trends throughout the years, and consumer behavior, we landed on China.

Campaigning in a Foreign Country:

How would we do it? After reviewing and discussing the research and data we have gathered, our team brainstormed creative ways that we could implement the video game into the Chinese social lifestyle and how it could cater to our target market with China's social and economic policies in mind. With key communication plans, along with monetizing success measures and detailed specific timelines, we constructed a comprehensive pitch in order to deliver our idea.

In this project, we wanted to focus on the rise of Crumbl Cookies, honing in on their strengths and weaknesses and leveraging possible opportunities within the market through understanding and considering key competitors. Looking at the overall marketplace in detail along with delving into the industry's competitive landscape, we utilized concise analytics and data in order to not only understand the regulatory, environmental, and technical factors, but to also determine how many of these brands are thriving among each other.

Music Album Event?! Through the Fashion Institute of Technology, my classmates, professors, and I organized a music industry event panel in collaboration with Universal Music Group to celebrate Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday" album. This event was meant for FIT students to get a dive into the music industry, have the opportunity to network, connect, and engage in a Q&A session with UMG professionals, all while having fun and entering giveaways for Nicki Minaj merch.
