PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family,

As we reflect on the events that shook our country last week, I am reminded how blessed we are to be part of the St. Cecilia community. Together, we lift one another up and strive to be a light of hope and faith for those around us. The unity and care within SCS truly make our school family something special.

  • Cell Phones: The entire SCS car line is a school zone. Stow your phone.
  • Morning Care Drop-Off: If you need to walk your child(ren) into morning care, please park in a designated parking spot rather than stopping in the car line. This keeps traffic flowing so other families—and our faculty and staff—can reach their destinations on time.
  • Use the Horseshoe: Whether morning or afternoon, please utilize the horseshoe behind the One Heart Building before continuing on W. Railroad Street and into the SCS car line.
  • Visible Car Signs: For afternoon pickup, be sure your family name sign is clearly visible to the duty teacher to keep dismissal running smoothly.
  • No Walk-Ups After 2:40 PM: Walk-up pickups are not permitted after our 2:40 p.m. walker sign-out ends. If you are running late, simply use the car line so duty teachers can focus on the safe loading of children.
  • Aftercare Pickups: If your child attends aftercare, please do not arrive before 3:10 p.m. for pickup. These students are in a different location than car riders, so they take longer to get to vehicles. If you simply wait until car line is finished, your child will actually get to you much more quickly.

Please communicate these procedures to all family members who may pick up your children. These policies are in place to protect the safety of our students, faculty, and staff while keeping traffic moving efficiently.

Thank you for your cooperation and care for our Bluejay community.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

RELIGION

Today is Pope Leo XIV's 70th birthday! OSV News is celebrating by gathering a host of prayers into a very special “spiritual birthday bouquet” for the Holy Father. Called “Pizza and Prayer,” the spiritual bouquet will be made up of a variety of prayer options. Each prayer effort will be noted, collated and sent to the pope. The name of all who participated in this spiritual bouquet will be included on the card OSV News will send to the Vatican. St. Cecilia School will be noted as offering up a Mass in honor of this milestone.

If possible today, pray together for the Holy Father and then grab a slice of pizza in honor of one of the Chicago native’s favorite treats!

SCS MASS

Mass is at 8:30 Wednesday morning and will be hosted by Mrs. Robichaux's 4th grade homeroom. Guests may join us for limited seating in church, in the Narthex or PLC, or online at shbroussard.org/live.
