PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family, Last night, I had the honor of attending the Proudly Pro-Life Gala hosted by Acadiana Right to Life, where St. Cecilia was recognized as the Bienvenu Smith Pro-Life School of the Year. This award honors a school community that boldly chooses life and forms young leaders with courage, compassion, and conviction. Fr. Michael, administrators, ministry team members, and junior high students and teachers were in attendance to accept the award on behalf of our beautiful school. Our 8th Grade Student of the Year, Miss Alba McManus, truly wowed the crowd with her beautiful and thoughtful speech on the sanctity of life and her desire to further that cause through a future career in medicine. Moments like these reflect the depth of formation taking place at St. Cecilia and the compassion our students carry into the world. As we observe Sanctity of Human Life Month, I am incredibly proud of our students and grateful for a community that upholds the dignity and sanctity of every human person. We are deeply humbled by this honor. Grace & Peace, Erin B. Henry Principal

  • Use the horseshoe in car line. Don't skip it, you never know when someone is waiting just around the corner and you are cutting them off.
  • Take a right when exiting car line onto Main Street. If the crossing guard is present, left turns are not allowed.
  • Pay your lunch bill. We are thrilled to see more students enjoying a hot lunch now that our cafeteria is re-opened, but there is also over $4,000 in lunch debt. Please check your balance and make payments here.

CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION

Career Day

Thank you to all of you who played a part in the success of our Career Day. As we mentioned to the students, this experience is invaluable and something they may only have the opportunity to experience and be exposed to once. Each person who presented had strong connections to the school—alumni, current parents, and future parents who are excited about their future Bluejays. They were all incredibly impressed and grateful for the experience with our students and for how welcoming our entire campus was. This is certainly a reflection of your love and efforts campus-wide. Their careers, along with the memories they shared, were truly something to witness. Our students were so well behaved, asked fantastic questions, and will continue the experience with thought-provoking writing assignments next week.

Mardi Gras Expo Week information

We have begun preparing for our Mardi Gras Expo Week! Please read the information below for important updates regarding the week and the events taking place on Friday, February 13.

STUDENT SERVICES

HIS HOUSE

Our first HIS HOUSE Assembly will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026. Your child should be receiving information directly from his/her house about the “One Fish, Two Fish” theme and dress options. We encourage everyone to participate and show some spirit for their beloved house. Remember: Students are encouraged to wear house colored shirts with uniform bottoms. Any accessories or costume pieces should be added before the assembly and not worn to school and should relate to the theme. Due to the nature of the assembly and the need for space, please be reminded that the assembly is reserved for student body, faculty, and staff attendance only.

Student Feather of the Week

BE HUMBLE- Realize it’s not all about you. Recognize your faults and seek forgiveness.

Feather Challenge

Do an act of kindness for someone that you hurt this week.  Ex:  write a note, draw a picture, play with them at recess, hold the door open for them, etc.

PARENT FEATHER OF THE WEEK

TRUST THE PROCESS- Focus on your child’s development in all areas. We all have your child’s best interests at heart. We are on the same team.

Feather Challenge

As a parent, work with your child’s teacher and remember that both of you want what’s best for your child. Just like parents must be on the same page in rearing children, it’s equally important for parents and teachers to work together to foster a positive experience at school.

ADVANCEMENT

Event Dates & Weekend Schedule We’re excited to be heading back to the golf course this year. At the same time, last year’s weather challenges reminded us how special our on-campus events can be—and we’re glad to be able to enjoy both again this year.

Athletic Handbook

All student-athletes and their parents are asked to review the St. Cecilia Athletic Handbook and complete the online agreement form before participating in any school-sponsored sport. In addition, physicals are only good for one year and must be completed annually. If you have yet to update your child's physical, the form can be downloaded here.

STREAM SCENE

STREAM LAB REQUESTS: We no longer need donations of tissue boxes, shoe boxes, and Hillshire Farm containers and lids. Our stash for those supplies is good! Thank you! 😊
