2023 Allen Eagle Escadrille TWIB Notes october 16 -october 22

The Allen Band had an "All-Star" performance earning unanimous Division 1 ratings at Region

UIL Area C Marching Contest

What a weekend!

Not only did we support the Eagles in a huge win vs. a state-ranked McKinney team (31-7 victory), we worked extraordinarily hard and earned straight division 1 ratings from all of our judges at the UIL Region 25 Marching Band Contest. We have now advanced to our biggest contest of the season: UIL Area C Marching Contest held at Mesquite Memorial Stadium. The schedule will be finalized by mid-week. Please reserve all morning, afternoon, evening, and prepare for a late return this Saturday. Performing in Area C is a privilege. We are honored to be competing with some of the nation's finest bands on Saturday.

There are many announcements this week. Please carefully review all of the announcements in this week's TWIB.

  • UIL Area C Marching Contest (10/21) @ Mesquite Memorial Stadium: Because the Allen Band earned a Division 1 rating at our Region contest, the band has advanced to our Area Contest at Mesquite Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct 21. While we will not know the details of our performance time as of today, the Allen Band will perform 20th out of 32 bands based on random draw. We expect to have a mid-afternoon prelims performance. The top 12 bands will perform in finals. The top 6 bands at finals will advance to the UIL 6A State Marching Band Contest. While we are aiming to earn a coveted spot in Area Finals, we will watch bands perform in finals if we do not advance. Please reserve all morning, afternoon, evening, and prepare for a late return. Here is an archive Itinerary from 2022 for a quick snapshot of what the day may look like.
  • Home Game vs. Denton Guyer (10/20): We have a home game vs. Denton Guyer. The full band will perform the traditional show in pre-game while we will perform our contest show during halftime. Remember that students are expected to have dinner on their own prior to our 5:15pm call time. Our optional meals for purchase will be from Panera Bread. Optional Meal Order Form Link HERE.
