It's Advent! During this season, we wait and prepare for Jesus' coming, both at Christmas and when He comes again. This year, we're exploring the "Recipe for Salvation" and discovering what Christmas baking can teach us about God and His Word.
Light the Advent Wreath
Each Sunday of Advent, we light a candle on the Advent wreath to count up to Jesus' birth at Christmas. This week, we light the two blue or purple candles (HOPE & PEACE) and the pink candle (JOY).
It's one thing to have a plain sugar cookie. It's another thing to have decorated and covered with icing and sprinkle-delights. The decorations take something plain and simple and turn it into a specktacle of JOY!
Jesus entered into our world of sin and darkness to fill it with light and JOY! Look around, and evidence of His love is sprinkled everywhere. From sunsets to rainbows, from frosting and sprinkles to cupcakes and cookies, Jesus fills our lives with wonderful things to remind us of who He is: the Savior of the world, crucified and risen, giving us JOY for all our days and into eternity.
