Attacca Quartet and Composer/Vocalist Caroline Shaw Present Music from Grammy Award-Winning Album Evergreen
The members of the acclaimed Attacca Quartet are passionate advocates of contemporary repertoire and new work—including that of composer and vocalist Caroline Shaw, who became the youngest recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013. In a special program together, the Attacca and Shaw perform music from their 2022 album Evergreen, which, like their previous record, Orange, garnered a Grammy Award.
The two-time GRAMMY-award winning Attacca Quartet is recognized and acclaimed as one of the most versatile and outstanding ensembles of the moment — a true quartet for modern times. Gliding through traditional classical repertoire through to electronic, video game music and contemporary collaborations, they are one of the world's most innovative and respected ensembles.
Caroline Shaw is a musician who moves among roles, genres, and mediums, trying to imagine a world of sound that has never been heard before but has always existed. She is the recipient of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize in Music, several Grammy awards, an honorary doctorate from Yale, and a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship. She has worked with a range of artists including Rosalía, Renée Fleming, and Yo Yo Ma, and she has contributed music to films and tv series including Fleishman is in Trouble, Bombshell, Yellowjackets, Maid, Dark, and Beyonce’s Homecoming. Her favorite color is yellow, and her favorite smell is rosemary.
