- Currently enrolled students can get some fuel to keep going at tonight’s Late Night Breakfast at the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library Colonnade starting at 8 p.m.
- On Tuesday, pick up your TAMIU duck and get some Quacken Energy for finals with a Lucky Ducky Pop-Up at the Quacken for Mental Health event at 11 a.m. in the Breezeway.
- The Congrats Grads Campaign is now underway. Share your photo to be featured on social media and screens at Commencement. Details follow.
- Last week, we joined colleagues at Laredo College for the Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement that expands events like The Big Event and Make A Difference Day. This paves the way for students at Laredo’s two institutions of higher education to engage and work together to better our community.
- We also celebrated a partnership with the South Texas Food Bank that will help our Dusty’s Food Pantry to continue to provide services to students experiencing food insecurity. Find out more.
- What are you doing this summer? Student Brianna Andrews has been selected as a 2025 Latino Scholar in HIV/AIDS Research Education (SHARE) Summer Program at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Find out about her special honor.
About This Week:
- A new two-person art exhibition, “Riddles of the Ground,” continues at the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Gallery. Riddles of the Ground features the works of Sandra Amoabeng and Emily Rice, TAMIU Art faculty members. It’s in place through May 9. Here’s details.
- Visit the Helen Richter Watson Gallery fronting the colonnade of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library to see the new portrait of our Sixth President, the late Dr. Pablo Arenaz. It will soon join other presidential portraits in a dedicated space in the Killam Library.
TELUS a New Name:
- TELUS Health Student Support, TAMIU’s free confidential mental health care app, is getting a fresh new name and look, and we need YOUR help in creating a new name! Your voice matters because TELUS provides students access to individual counseling, workshops and a wide range of local and national resources. Dustdevil Athletics:
- Dustdevil Student-Athletes were celebrated at the annual Student-Athlete Banquet recently. Student-Athletes were recognized for their on and off-field commitment, excellence and hard work. Kudos to the Dustdevil Athletics Department for hosting this cherished tradition! See a Gallery.
- But the Dustdevil Athletics season is not over... TAMIU Men's and Women's Golf teams are gearing up for an exciting stretch of national competition in early May at multiple prestigious tournaments.
- The TAMIU Women's Golf Team has earned a spot in the NCAA Regional Championship, May 8 - 10 at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas. After a season filled with determination and resilience, the Dustdevils are ready to showcase their talent on the regional stage. Find out more.
- On the Men's Golf side, standout Juan Monckeberg has been selected for individual participation in the NCAA Men's Regional Championship, also taking place May 8 -10 at Victoria Club in Riverside, California.
