News

Top Blokes Program

Stage 3 boys have continued to enjoy participating in the Top Blokes Program on a weekly basis. Over the last few weeks, we have covered important topics, including how to cope with peer pressure, understanding healthy risk-taking, and developing personal strategies and constructive ways to manage anger. We are excited to celebrate the boys’ achievements in this program with a graduation ceremony during our final session on Monday, 16th December 2024.

Parents of our Stage 3 boys will be special guests at the ceremony, which will begin at 12.30pm, followed by lunch and refreshments for students and parents at 1.30pm. An invitation will be sent home this week to confirm numbers for our Top Blokes Graduation Ceremony.

Reading Challenge Reward Day

Lots of fun and laughs on Thursday at Hunter Valley gardens Putt-Putt Golf. Some amazing shots with a few students getting holes in one! We also enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch, poppers and cupcakes. An exciting game of tips and lots of activity on the playground equipment. Congratulations to all students who completed the Mulbring Reading Challenge!

Cessnock Zone Cricket Trials

Congratulations to Jack P and Clay S for their outstanding effort at the Cessnock Zone Cricket Trials. Both boys displayed impressive skills in batting and bowling and have now been selected to represent the Cessnock Zone at the Hunter trials on Friday, 6th December. Best of luck, boys—we are all extremely proud of you!

Year 6 Clap Out Day

This year, the last day of Term 4 for all students, Wednesday 18th December 2024, will be a little different from previous years. To celebrate the success of all students and to honour our Year 6 students graduating from Mulbring Primary School, we have planned a series of activities to give them a memorable send-off.

The festivities will begin with a BBQ lunch at 1.30pm, and Year 6 parents are invited to join us for this special event. The BBQ will be provided for the whole school, prepared and served by our Year 5 students. We extend our gratitude to the Year 5 parents who have volunteered to assist with the cooking on the day.

After lunch, students and teachers will have the chance to share memories and stories of their time at Mulbring PS, followed by the cutting of a celebratory cake for everyone to enjoy. At around 2.30pm, we will have a fun sports activity where Year 6 students will go head-to-head against their parents and teachers, with our Mulbring community invited to be spectators.

To conclude the day, at 2.50pm, students will line up to form a guard of honour, cheering our Year 6 students as they ring the school bell for the very last time. We are looking forward to a wonderful day of celebrations and hope to make this an annual end-of-year tradition for our school.

Colour Explosion

Thank you to everyone for your incredible support in making our Colour Explosion such an enjoyable and memorable experience. The day was a huge success, with students having a blast during both water and colour activities. It was wonderful to see all students displaying such spirit and enthusiasm in supporting our school. Seeing the smiles on the students' faces and everyone coming together as they ran was truly amazing!

We raised $5,784.80, 60% of which will go toward concrete markings for games and activities within our school.

The incentive prizes have been ordered and are on their way. A special thank you to everyone who donated to our cause—your contribution has been transferred and will be greatly appreciated.

Once again, our most sincere thanks for your support and fundraising efforts. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Kindergarten 2025 Orientation

Our Kindergarten orientation was a fantastic success! All the students settled into the classroom with excitement and enthusiasm. They had a wonderful time creating their very own hand puppets of the Gruffalo, following simple one-step instructions that encouraged creativity and teamwork. It was heartwarming to see new friendships blossoming as they worked together and shared their creations. We are thrilled to welcome our new students for 2025 and look forward to a year full of learning and fun!
