GRS-certified RECYCLED POLYESTER // On request, we can weave certain qualities on warps made from recycled polyester. The GRS-certification guarantuees that these yarns are made from postconsumer Pet-bottles that are being collected by private and government organisations. Manufacturing this ultra-durable fiber starts with truckloads of plastic bottles - but just the clear ones, which provide a neutral base for applying dyes. The bottles are stripped of their labels and shredded up into tiny pieces that look like plastic confetti. These plastic pieces are then converted into tiny pellets, melted, and spun into yarn. Recycling single-use plastics dramatically decreases CO2-emissions compared to producing virgin polyester. Water usage is also significantly decreased during production.

Buying fabrics really made in Europe, is the best and easiest step to start reducing your ecological footprint. Moreover, buying fabrics from Green Street Fabrics means buying from a truly sustainable production unit :

- All yarns and finishes used by Green Street Fabrics are made in Europe and therefore meet with the REACH-obligations. REACH is worldwide the best official and legal protection for mankind and nature, ensuring that a minimum of harmful substances is used in the final product sold to the end-consumer.

- The dying as well as the IMO-certified finishing is done by a local, specialized company with a fantastic waste-water system, ensuring that the water they extract from the river for dying and finishing, is purer and safer after use than before.

- Weaving is done in our factory here in Belgium, using electricity from 750 solar panels to run the looms and hybrid company-cars.

- Yarn- and textile-waste is being collected by a certified company to be re-used for the production of insulation-panels.

- Use of hybrid-cars for board-members, also powered by our solar panels.
