Fostering Hope Clothes Closet
Fostering Hope Clothes Closet collects new and gently used clothing items for Foster Children and other families in need in Jackson County and surrounding areas. Their goal is to make sure the community has the items and resources they need to thrive. Many foster children are taken to new homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs, this leaves a large burden on the foster family. We are hoping to lessen that burden by providing clothes that are needed. We will also be helping other families who may need help with clothing their family. No one should be cold because they don’t have the jacket or shoes they need.
The fourth graders at Ivy Creek Elementary School are collecting clothing items to support Fostering Hope Clothes Closet. The clothes closet has helped over 3,800 individuals of all ages. They give away over 2,700 items of clothing at the various events they hold throughout the year. We want to do our part to help families in need during the warm spring and summer months.
Clothing Drive
May 7th-14th
We are looking for items of all sizes to help support men, woman, boys, and girls. Although the closet accepts all types of clothing, we are looking for specific items that are their greatest need at this time. Please considering joining us in helping this organization.
Items Needed by Grade Level:
- Kindergarten: New socks and underwear
- 1st Grade: New or gently used stuffed animals and small toys
- 2nd Grade: New or gently used shoes
- 3rd and 4th Grade: Shorts and t-shirts (dress or athletic)
- 5th Grade: Hoodies or light weight jackets
Please be sure the items sent in are gently used or new. If they have stains, the organization may be able to get them out. Please do not send in items that contain rips or holes. Students will be sorting through them to pull any items out that cannot be donated.
