Message from our Principal
Outdoor Education students camping
This week, our Year 10 outdoor education students are off on their camp. Hopefully, the weather clears up a little bit, and they get some fabulous experiences during the week. Other Year 10 activities this week include White Card Training. Students who are not in Outdoor Education are expected to be engaging in regular lessons and activities here at school.
Social media restrictions for under 16-year-olds
Parents have been emailed this morning a reminder about the upcoming social media restrictions, in place from 10 December 2025, and the impact that this will have on students who are under 16. The key thing to remember is that social media platforms themselves are the ones who are responsible for making the appropriate changes.
Please visit this link today to download your copy of the information guide and feel confident you know the facts before the changes take effect.
Year 11 Presentation
Last week was a very busy week for Mullumbimby High School and the culmination on Friday morning was our Year 11 Recognition Assembly. Congratulations to the very deserving award winners and thank you to the staff who organised and ran a very uplifting and celebratory assembly for students achievement.
Year 12 Formal
Monday evening saw us farewell our Year 12 students of 2025 in a very classy formal evening. Students had a wonderful evening catching up with friends and celebrating the end of their secondary school journey. Many thanks to Leanne Clarkson for her guidance, her care and all her efforts to provide the very best learning and extracurricular experiences to our Year 12 cohort this year as their year advisor.
P&C Trivia Night
For anyone who missed it, you will not want to next year! The P&C’s Trivia Night fundraiser on Friday night was a great success. Lots of laughs we’re had and lots of funds were raised for the Wellbeing programs in our school. (see photos of the night in the P&C section hereunder)
Respectful Language and Communication: what are the expectations?
Parents and carers may have seen some targeted communication if your student has not been able to meet the high expectations we have around our weekly behaviour focuses. Others will have received congratulations letters when students have met or exceeded these expectations.
Our Week 6 focus is on respectful language. Respectful language and communication are important in everyday life. Most of us have seen how things can go wrong when communication is disrespectful or there is miscommunication through words not matching body language. This week, we will all be working together to ensure that we are communicating respectfully to each other both at school and out in the community as well.

A Note from our P&C
Our school hall was buzzing on Friday night with 90 community members gathered for a trivia night fundraiser hosted by us - the Mullumbimby High School P&C. Supported by School Principal, Ms Bree Havery-Bice, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd eager to enjoy a fun night out while backing an important cause. Local businesses donated close to $7000 worth of prizes, contributing to an impressive raffle and boosting the night’s fundraising efforts. Maths teacher by day and trivia extraordinaire by night, Mr Will Brennan, was our vivacious host, keeping the room entertained and guiding teams through a series of trivia plus laughter-filled games. P&C President Ms Amy Colli said the event was “a beautiful demonstration of community connection and generosity,” praising the strong support from families, teachers and local businesses. The event raised $4000 and Ms Colli says the P&C aims to turn the event into an annual gathering. Funds raised will go directly to the school’s Wellbeing Hub, Garhima — named after the Bundjalung word meaning “to respect and take care of” — which provides vital programs supporting students, teachers, and the wider community.
