Origin of Falafel:
It is believed that falafel first emerged in Alexandria. There is a legend that a fava bean version was eaten by Coptic Christians in the Roman era as early as the 4th century during Lent.
Basic Recipe (Base Ingredients) for Falafel:
2 cups dried split fava beans
1 red onion, quartered
½ cup fresh parsley
½ cup fresh cilantro
½ cup fresh dill
3 cloves garlic
1 ½ teaspoons ground coriander
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 cup sesame seeds (Optional)
1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Feteer Meshaltet is a flaky Egyptian layered pastry with butter in between the layers. It is popularly known as Egyptian layered pastry. Feteer, is a traditional Egyptian pastry that has been enjoyed for centuries. Feteer Meshaltet is believed to have existed since ancient Egypt when Feteer Meshaltet was called Feteer Maltoot. The snack was served as an offering to gods in the temples. It has since became one of the most popular dishes in Egypt.

1 tablespoon of sugar
1 glass of water
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of melted ghee
Corn oil
