Welcome to our Summer update. As we wrap up another busy term and look ahead to the summer break, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support throughout the school year. Your involvement and dedication to your child’s education have not gone unnoticed, and we appreciate all that you do. I am truly grateful for your continued support.
This term has been wonderfully busy and this newsletter is a great opportunity to look back and celebrate the many accomplishments of the term.
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the achievements of our Year 11 students as we bid them a fond farewell as they prepare to move on to the next chapter of their academic journey. Throughout the past year they have demonstrated dedication, resilience, and a true passion for learning. It has been a great privilege watching them grow and develop into bright, talented individuals with a promising future ahead of them.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish year 11 all the best for their upcoming exam results and their future endeavors.
Additionally, I am excited to share that we will be welcoming new Year 7 students to our school in September. We recently held a successful transition day where year 6 students met their new teachers and classmates, we are confident that they will settle in quickly and smoothly.
I am also thrilled to inform you that we have some new members of staff joining our senior leadership team in September. I would like to welcome Mr Woodcock and Mrs Dickinson to our TMA family. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our school, and I am confident that they will make a positive impact on the learning and development of our students.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I wish you all a wonderful summer break, and look forward to welcoming you back in September for another successful school year.
A massive well done goes to all our students who attended and represented TMA in the best possible way at the DRET Summer Cup! Throughout the day as well as our athletes taking center stage we also brought along our Table Tennis, Tennis, Boccia players and Swimmers winning for TMA bronze, silver and a gold medal! This is a true showing of how hard our students have been working
It is with mixed emotions that we say farewell to our Year 11 students. It has been a pleasure watching you grow during your time at TMA. The absolutely smashed their final year and we wish them all the very best. Their leaving prom was a fabulous way to end our journey together.
We are very pleased to have been able to reintroduce work experience placements for our students. A number of our Year 10 students spent a week learning about the world of work across a variety of placements including primary schools, supermarkets, solicitors, fast food outlets, heating specialists and car dealers. We even had our own work experience Vice Principal! The feedback from employers was overwhelmingly positive. We would absolutely love to hear from anyone who may be able to offer a student a future opportunity for next years placement.
We are so very proud of Miss Robinson's nomination for the national Competition Teacher of the Year 2024 - this is a thoroughly well deserved nomination. Miss Robinson is a true inspiration to both staff and students. She goes over and above in her work offering continuous care and support to all those around her. She works relentlessly helping students to become the very best versions of themselves. We are extremely proud to have Miss Robinson as a part of our TMA community.
A number of TMA students attended the DRET Choral Festival at Grimsby Auditorium where they rehearsed and performed with BBC singers. Students performed as part of a 400 voice mass choir conducted by the BBC's Nicholas Chalmers, performing famous operatic compositions including Puccini’s ‘Nessn Dorma’, Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ and TMA’s favourite ‘Hope and Glory’ by Pete Letanka.
In May we offered our 8 students the opportunity to attend a residential trip at Walesby. It was wonderful to see the students building friendships, spending time in Clumber Park, pushing themselves to overcome fears, canoeing, zip wiring and rock climbing. The students had a wonderful time and were an absolute delight to have. They were an absolute credit to the school and their families. We cannot wait to start planning our next residential trip.
We had the pleasure of welcoming our new Year 7s for a Transition Day. During this day the students were able to have a taster day to get a feel of what Year 7 would look like, met their new teachers and made lots of new friends. They were a delight to host and we cannot wait for them to join TMA in September!
