Boys Cross Country

6th Place in the West Suburban Conference - 3rd Place IHSA Regionals

The Lyons Township High School boys’ cross country team wrapped up the Fall 2025 season with a strong and competitive campaign, marked by steady growth and impressive performances throughout the year. Competing in the highly competitive West Suburban Conference, the Lions demonstrated resilience and determination, earning a 6th-place finish while consistently challenging themselves against some of the top programs in the area. The team’s commitment to improvement was evident in their work ethic, depth, and support for one another at every meet.

At the IHSA Regional, Lyons Township earned a 3rd-place finish, showcasing their ability to rise to the occasion when it mattered most. Each runner played a critical role, and the collective effort reflected months of preparation and trust built throughout the season. The Lions were led by Tyler Gantt (9th) and Colin Shea (13) at the Regional Meet.

At the IHSA Sectional Meet, the team finished in 12th place in a packed field. The Lions were again led by Tyler Gantt, who was the top finisher for LT. Beyond the results, the Fall 2025 season was a celebration of team culture, leadership, and perseverance.

The boys supported one another through early-morning practices, challenging courses, and high-pressure races, creating a foundation that extends well beyond the finish line. This group represented Lyons Township High School with pride, class and exciting momentum for the future of the program.

Girls cross country

6th Place in the West Suburban Conference - 3rd Place IHSA Regional Meet - 10th Place IHSA Sectional Meet

The Lyons Township High School girls’ cross country team concluded the Fall 2025 season with a strong and memorable campaign, highlighted by competitive finishes and outstanding individual performances. Competing in the challenging West Suburban Conference, the Lions earned a 6th-place finish, demonstrating consistency, determination, and growth throughout the season. Each race reflected the team’s commitment to improvement and their ability to compete at a high level against strong conference opponents.

The postseason brought some of the team’s most exciting moments, beginning at the IHSA Regional. Lyons Township finished an impressive 3rd place, showcasing a complete team effort and outstanding leadership at the front of the pack. Mya Coglianese led the way with an exceptional 3rd-place finish, while Lucinda Martinez followed closely with an 11th-place performance. Their success was supported by strong contributions from the entire lineup, underscoring the depth and balance of the team.

Building on that momentum, the Lions advanced to the IHSA Sectional, where they finished 12th overall in a highly competitive field. Once again, Mya Coglianese delivered a standout performance, earning a 9th-place medal and securing her spot at the IHSA State Meet. Her consistency and competitiveness throughout the postseason exemplified the hard work and preparation put in all season long.

Mya finished with a personal best run of 17:48 at the state meet. This beat her time from last year's state meet by 30 seconds. She finished in the top 75 of the state in the 3A state cross country meet.

Football

Finished with a Record of 8-3 - 4-2 in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Western Suburban Conference - Playoff Qualifier - Advanced to the Sweet Sixteen - Finished the Season Ranked 6th Place in State in the AP 8A Poll

The Lyons Township High School football team put together an outstanding Fall 2025 season, highlighted by consistency, toughness, and a strong competitive spirit. The Lions finished the year with an impressive 8–3 overall record and a 4–2 mark in the West Suburban Conference, earning a well-deserved second-place finish. Throughout the season, the team demonstrated grit and resilience, responding to challenges with focus and determination while competing at a high level each week.

As the postseason arrived, Lyons Township carried its momentum into the IHSA Playoffs. The Lions defeated York in the opening round, marking the second consecutive week they earned a victory over their conference rival after also beating York in Week 9. That back-to-back success spoke volumes about the team’s preparation, confidence, and ability to rise to the moment. The season ultimately came to an end in the second round of the playoffs against a strong Fremd team, but the Lions’ playoff run reflected the strength and competitiveness of the program.

The senior class played a pivotal role in the success of the season and the program as a whole. Over the past two years, this group compiled an impressive 19–4 record, leaving a lasting legacy of hard work, accountability, and competitive excellence. Their leadership, along with the team’s collective fight and resilience, defined the 2025 season and set a strong foundation for the future of Lyons Township football.

Individual accomplishments also stood out during the 2025 campaign. Brady Rusk earned All-State recognition on the Class 8A Honorable Mention Team (IHSFCA), a testament to his performance, leadership, and impact on the field. His recognition highlighted the level of talent and commitment present within the program and served as a source of pride for the entire team.

Girls Flag Football

17-4 overall record - 5-1 in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place Finish in the WSC - IHSA Regional Champions - Ranked 24th in State

The Lyons Township High School flag football team delivered an outstanding Fall 2025 season, marked by competitiveness, consistency, and continued growth. The Lions finished the year with an impressive 17–4 overall record and went 5–1 in West Suburban Conference play, earning a strong second-place finish. Throughout the season, the team showcased discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence, establishing themselves as one of the top programs in the area.

Postseason play highlighted the Lions’ ability to rise to the occasion. Lyons Township captured the IHSA Regional Championship with decisive victories over Downers Grove North and Reavis, demonstrating poise and confidence in high-pressure situations. Their regional title run reflected the team’s preparation and belief in one another, as they executed at a high level against quality opponents.

The season continued into the IHSA Sectional, where the Lions battled fiercely before falling in the sectional semifinals to Kenwood, the eventual sectional champion. While the playoff run came to an end, the team’s performance against top-tier competition further solidified its standing as a respected and competitive program across the state.

Individual accomplishments added to the success of the season, with Anna Bigenwald earning All-State recognition for her outstanding play and leadership. The Lions concluded the year ranked 24th in the state, a testament to the strength of the program and the collective effort of the players and coaching staff. The 2025 season stands as another milestone for Lyons Township flag football and sets a strong foundation for continued success in the future.

Girls Golf

7-3 overall record - 6-3 in the West Suburban Conference - Finished 5th Place in the West Suburban Conference - 3rd Place IHSA Regional Meet

The Lyons Township High School girls golf team enjoyed an exciting and successful Fall 2025 season, highlighted by strong performances, competitive growth, and an incredible team atmosphere. The Lions finished the year with an impressive 7–3 overall record and went 6–3 in West Suburban Conference play, earning a solid fifth-place finish.

One of the most thrilling moments of the season came at the IHSA Regional, where the Lions delivered an outstanding performance to finish in third place. That result earned the team a well-deserved qualification to the IHSA Sectional Tournament, a significant accomplishment that reflected both the talent and hard work of the entire roster. Competing together on the postseason stage was a testament to the team’s preparation and belief in one another.

Beyond the results, what truly set this group apart was their energy and team spirit. The girls supported one another on every hole, celebrated successes, and stayed positive through challenges, creating an environment where competing hard and having fun went hand in hand. Their enthusiasm and camaraderie were evident throughout the season and made every competition a rewarding experience.

The Fall 2025 season will be remembered not only for the wins and postseason success, but also for the joy and unity this team brought to the course each day. Boys Golf

6-3 dual meet record - 4-2 in the West Suburban Conference - West Suburban Conference Champions - 2nd Place in IHSA Regional - 4th Place IHSA Sectional

The Lyons Township High School boys golf team enjoyed a highly successful and memorable Fall 2025 season, defined by excellence, consistency, and strong leadership. The Lions finished the year with a 6–3 overall record and a 4–2 mark in West Suburban Conference play, earning the conference championship. Their first-place finish reflected a season of disciplined preparation, competitive focus, and a commitment to performing at a high level throughout the fall.

Conference play concluded with another highlight as the Lions captured first place at the West Suburban Conference Tournament. The team’s ability to execute under pressure and perform collectively showcased their depth and balance, setting the stage for a strong postseason run. Each golfer contributed to the team’s success, reinforcing the Lions’ reputation as one of the premier programs in the conference.

At the IHSA Regional, Lyons Township continued its impressive run by earning a second-place team finish, qualifying the Lions for the IHSA Sectional Tournament. Finley Tyrrell led the way with an outstanding round, earning a third-place medal after shooting a 72. His performance exemplified the team’s competitive mindset and set the tone for a confident showing as the postseason progressed.

The Lions delivered another strong performance at the IHSA Sectional, finishing fourth overall as a team in a highly competitive field. Despite narrowly missing a team advancement, individual excellence shined through as Charlie Forrest, JT Almond, and Garrett Pohl each shot a 72 to qualify for the IHSA State Meet. Their achievements, along with the team’s collective success throughout the season, made the Fall 2025 campaign one to celebrate and a proud chapter in Lyons Township boys golf history.

Boys Soccer

Finished with a record of 17-5-2 - 4-2 in the WSC - 2nd West Suburban Conference - Won the IHSA Regional - Ranked 18th in State

The Lyons Township High School boys soccer team delivered an outstanding Fall 2025 season, marked by high-level competition, memorable victories, and consistent success. The Lions finished the year with an impressive 17–5–2 overall record, demonstrating resilience and quality play throughout a demanding schedule. From early-season tournaments to conference and postseason play, the team consistently represented Lyons Township with skill, discipline, and pride.

One of the season’s highlights came during tournament play, as the Lions advanced to the championship match of the prestigious BodyArmor Tournament. The excitement continued with a signature victory in the Silver Brick Game, where Lyons Township defeated longtime rival Hinsdale Central. Those performances not only energized the program, but also showcased the team’s ability to perform in high-pressure, high-profile matches.

Conference play further reflected the team’s strength, as the Lions posted a 4–2 record in the West Suburban Conference to earn a second-place finish. Momentum carried into the IHSA postseason, where Lyons Township delivered dominant performances at the regional level. The Lions opened with a commanding 6–0 victory over Curie in the regional semifinal, followed by a hard-fought 1–0 win over Downers Grove North to capture the IHSA Regional Championship.

The season concluded in the sectional semifinal against St. Laurence, but the team’s accomplishments extended well beyond that match. Ryland Avants earned All-State recognition from the IHSSCA, highlighting his outstanding contributions and leadership throughout the season. The Lions also finished the year ranked 18th in the state, a testament to the program’s quality and competitiveness. The Fall 2025 season stands as a proud and celebratory chapter in Lyons Township boys soccer history.

Girls Swimming and Diving

5-0 Overall Record - 5-0 WSC Record - 1st Place in West Suburban Conference

IHSA Sectional Champions - 6th Place in State

The Lyons Township High School girls swimming and diving team delivered an exceptional Fall 2025 season, marked by consistency, depth, and a strong competitive spirit. The Lions finished the dual-meet portion of the season with a perfect 5–0 record, setting a high standard from the outset. Throughout the year, the team demonstrated focus, preparation, and a commitment to excellence that was evident in every competition.

Invitational success played a major role in the team’s standout season. Lyons Township captured first-place finishes at several highly competitive events, including the LT Relays, the St. Charles East Invitational, and the Rosary Invitational. These victories highlighted the team’s ability to perform under pressure and showcased the balance and versatility of the roster across a variety of competitive formats.

Conference and postseason competition further affirmed the Lions’ strength. The team finished in first place in the West Suburban Conference, earning the conference championship through consistent performances and a strong team-first approach. That momentum carried into the IHSA postseason, where Lyons Township won the IHSA Sectional Tournament, advancing to the state meet and solidifying its position among the top programs in the state.

The season concluded with an impressive sixth-place finish at the IHSA State Meet, a fitting result for a group that competed with confidence and resilience all year long. Individual excellence was also recognized, as Sydney Kail, Dylan Jorgensen, Maeve Collins, Claire Crimmins, Anna Pansing, Kylie Thompson, Lindsay Forebaugh, Livia Joern, Olivia Chavez, and Brynn Krantz all earned All-State honors. Together, these achievements made the Fall 2025 season a proud and celebratory chapter for Lyons Township High School girls swim and dive team.

Girls Tennis

4-2 Record in the West Suburban Conference - 2nd Place in the WSC - 2nd Place in the IHSA Sectional Tournament - 18th Place Finish in State

The Lyons Township High School girls tennis team put together an impressive and competitive Fall 2025 season, marked by steady growth and strong performances throughout the year. The Lions finished the dual-meet season with a 4–2 overall record, demonstrating consistency and determination against quality opponents. From early matches through postseason play, the team showed a commitment to preparation, teamwork, and representing Lyons Township with pride.

Conference play proved to be another highlight for the Lions, as they earned a second-place finish in the West Suburban Conference. Competing in a highly competitive league, Lyons Township consistently rose to the challenge, with contributions from athletes across the lineup. At the IHSA State Tournament, Lyons Township finished 18th overall as a team, competing against the top programs in the state. Individual excellence was recognized as Abby Sullivan, Elise Novey, and Rhia Nagale each earned All-State honors, highlighting their outstanding seasons and leadership. Together, these accomplishments made the Fall 2025 season a celebratory and proud chapter for the Lyons Township girls tennis program.

Girls Volleyball

24-13 overall record - 4-2 in WSC - 3rd Place in West Suburban Conference - IHSA Regional Champions - Ranked 30th Place in State

The Lyons Township High School girls volleyball team enjoyed a successful and competitive Fall 2025 season, highlighted by strong performances and consistent growth throughout the year. The Lions finished the season with an impressive 24–13 overall record, reflecting their ability to compete at a high level against a demanding schedule. Throughout the fall, the team demonstrated resilience, preparation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

In West Suburban Conference play, Lyons Township posted a 4–2 record to earn a third-place finish in one of the area’s most competitive leagues. The Lions consistently rose to the challenge against conference opponents, relying on balanced contributions and a team-first mentality. Their strong conference performance set the stage for an exciting postseason run.

The highlight of the postseason came at the IHSA Regional Tournament, where the Lions captured the regional championship with two outstanding victories. Lyons Township defeated Argo in commanding fashion, 25–8 and 25–11, before earning a hard-fought win over host York, 25–23 and 25–20. Those matches showcased the team’s composure, execution, and ability to perform under pressure. The Lions’ postseason run concluded in the sectional semifinal against a strong Oak Park/River Forest team.

Individual accomplishments added to the celebration of the season, as Taylor Carroll earned Second Team All-State honors, while Julia Ahrens and Colleen Chambers were named to the All-State Honorable Mention team. These recognitions highlighted the talent, leadership, and hard work present throughout the roster. Together, the team’s achievements made the Fall 2025 season a proud and memorable chapter for the Lyons Township girls volleyball program.

The LT Fall Season was incredibly successful. Two teams won West Suburban Conference Championships this fall (Boys Golf and Girls Swimming and Diving). There were two teams who finished their IHSA season in the top 10 in the state (Girls Swimming and Diving (6th) and Football (6th 8A AP Poll). Five teams finished the season in the top 25 (Girls Swimming (6th), Football (6th 8A AP Poll), Boys Soccer (18th), Girls Tennis (18th) and Flag Football (24th)). Three teams won Regional Championships (Flag Football, Girls Volleyball and Boys Soccer). One team won a Sectional Plaque (Girls Swimming and Diving).

There were also 20 student athletes who attended the National Letter of Intent signing days on November 12th (Anna Bigenwald, Carolina Capizzi, Maeve Collins, Lindsay Forebaugh, Tanner Fridrych, Tommy Georgelos, Jack Hannon, Brody Lee-Caracci, Zibby Michaelson, Emma O'Brien, Anna Pansing, Garrett Pohl, Griff Powell, Carli Proctor, Nick Reilly, Lon Roberts, Brady Schlichter, Jack Slightom and Kylie Thompson) and December 5th (Roman Sosnovyy).

Nineteen student-athletes earned all-state honors in six different sports:

There were also 151 seniors who earned West Suburban Conference All-Academic status this fall.
