Sean Collier Invitational

On Saturday April 20th, the Mammoths competed at the Sean Collier Invitational. The Mammoths stepped up and competed at a high level at our last regular season meet of the outdoor season!

Discus

Emma Ramsingh competing in the Discus

The action kicked off in the field events, and the Discus was one of the first events of the day. Jacob Shine placed fourth with a personal best throw of 42.43 meters (139’ 2”)! Alex MacDonald placed twelfth with a throw of 37.09 meters (121’ 8”). In the Women's Discus, Emma Ramsingh placed fifth with a throw of 41.33 meters (135' 7") and Beth Martin placed 17th with her second best throw of season, a mark of 31.24 meters (102' 6")!

Hammer

In the Hammer Throw, Hugh Lemmon-Kishi placed 11th with a personal best throw of 45.65 meters (149’ 9”)! In the Women's Hammer, Emma Ramsingh placed fifteenth with a personal best throw of 36.60 meters (120' 1")! Beth Martin placed 22nd with a throw of 32.91 meters (108' 0").

Shot Put

In the Shot Put, Hugh Lemmon-Kishi placed ninth with a throw of 12.89 meters (42’ 3.5”) and Jacob Shine placed 11th with a throw of 12.69 meters (42’ 7.75”). Emma Ramsingh threw her second best throw of the season, a mark of 10.16 meters (33' 4") to place 18th! Beth Martin placed 25th with a throw of 9.29 meters (30' 5.75").

The first track event of the day was the Men’s 1,500 and Aidan Gemme won in a personal best time of 4:01, using a strong kick to win! Drew Stephens placed ninth in a time of 4:10 and Paolo Canigiula placed 13th in a personal best time of 4:14!

100 & 110 Hurdles

Olivia Steele won her heat of the 100 Hurdles in a personal best time of 15.90 seconds!

In the 110 Hurdles, Noah Harris ran his second best time of the season, running a time of 15.72 seconds to place second! Mike Gerfen set a personal best, running a time of 16.21 seconds, placing sixth!

400

Piper Lentz ran her first open 400 in more than a year and placed seventh in a personal best time of 59.42 seconds! Camilla Lash and Halle Hanna placed second and third in the same heat, both running a time of 1:01! Caroline Wu placed eighth in the same heat, running a time of 1:03. Chanelle Jaeger placed third in her heat in a season best time of 1:06!

The 100 was an excellent event for the Mammoths, as Alex Nichols and Jordan Harrison placed second and third, running times of 10.76 and 10.77 seconds, respectively! For Alex, it is a personal best time and for Jordan it is a season best time! Theo Woodward placed sixth in his heat in a time of 11.38 seconds, and Ben Williams placed third in his heat in a personal best time of 11.41 seconds!

In the Women's 100, all three Mammoths competed in the same heat. Chideraa Ngwadom won the heat in a personal best time of 13.27 seconds! Olivia Tennant placed second in the heat in a time of 13.29 seconds and Zoe Mulvihill placed seventh in the heat in a season best time of 13.61 seconds!

Long Jump

In the Long Jump, Isaias Wooden placed ninth with a personal best jump of 6.06 meters (19’ 10.76”)! Mike Gerfen placed 11th in his second best jump of the season, jumping 5.93 meters (19’ 5.5”)!

High Jump

Adrian Friedman set a personal best in the High Jump, clearing 1.77 meters (5’ 9.75”)!

Triple Jump

The Women's Triple Jump was huge for the Mammoths! Anaya Thomas placed second in a huge personal best jump of 11.45 meters (37' 6.75")! On her last jump, Myeh Medina jumped 11.41 meters (37' 5.25"), which earned her third place! Leah Smith placed sixth, jumping 10.69 meters (35' 1")!

Pole Vault

In the Pole Vault, Mia Bawendi placed third, clearing 3.55 meters (11' 7.75")! Jordan Hecker cleared a season best height of 3.25 meters (10' 8"), placing eighth! Payton Sorensen tied her season best, clearing 3.10 meters (10' 2") on her first attempt at the height, placing 11th! Bridget Cassata cleared 2.95 meters (9' 8") on her first attempt at the height, placing 16th!

In the 800, Ian Dopp won his heat in a huge personal best time of 1:56, which he negative split! Jack O’Hara competed in the 800 for the first time in more than a year and passed several runners in the final 100 meters of the race to place fourth in his heat in a time of 1:58! Harrison Talcott ran a strong 800, passing runners in the final 200 meters of the race to place fourth in a personal best time of 1:59!

400 Hurdles

Noah Harris returned to the track for the 400 Hurdles and placed second in a personal best time of 57.07 seconds! Tom Ye placed ninth in a time of 1:00. Trintje Nydam made her season debut in the event, placing fifth in a time of 1:08 and Artis Phillips recovered from a fall well to place eighth in a time of 1:11!

200

The 200 featured Mammoths returning to the track after strong races in the 100, as Alex Nichols placed fourth in a personal best time of 21.86 seconds! Ben Williams placed second in his heat in a personal best time of 23.49 seconds! Theo Woodward placed fifth in his heat in a time of 23.53 seconds.

In the Women's 200, Olivia Tennant placed fourth in her heat in a personal best time of 26.82 seconds! Zoe Mulvihill placed third in her heat, running her second best time of the season, a time of 27.58 seconds!

5,000

Sam Young placed fourth in the 5,000, running a time of 15:38 and Emmett McGrath placed seventh in a season best time of 16:20!

UP NEXT for the Mammoths is the NESCAC Track and Field Championships on Saturday, April 27th. The meet will be hosted by Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts and the action will begin at 9 AM.
