The Wave term 4 week 10

Relieving Principal's Message

We made it!! It feels like I blinked and a whole year has whizzed past- and what a year it has been! The successes we have achieved throughout 2025 was not something that I could have predicted back in Term 1. As a school we won a Secretary’s Award for our approach to supporting students with trauma, our senior rugby league team are the NSW state champions, we had students make it to state level for their chosen sports, our choir and dance troupes have been successful at eisteddfods and our whole school production “Are We There Yet” was a roaring success! No wonder we are all tired and worn out! I would like to congratulate every student who received an award at today’s Presentation Day Assembly. It is an honour to recognise each student’s successes and shine a light on those reaching high and striving to do their best. To our School Leaders who have been the face of our school throughout 2025 - thank you. I appreciate the time and effort you have put in to being good role models for younger students and out in the community. To our new incoming leaders for 2026, congratulations on your election. You have big shoes to fill! To all of our Year 6 students who are leaving us to embark on their high school adventure- good luck! It has been an honour to be part of your schooling journey. Watching you grow, develop and mature over the years has been a joy. As a teacher, it is incredibly rewarding to look at Year 6 students and know that we have all played a small part in helping you become who you are today. It is something that we take seriously and please know that we think about you and worry about you long after you leave us. Don’t be afraid to pop in and say hello one day! I hope that you settle in quickly to your new secondary schooling lives and continue to grow and thrive. To those families leaving us this year, thank you for trusting us to look after your most prized possessions. We take our roles as carers and educators in your absence very seriously and appreciate the relationships we have with you and the greater community. We say goodbye to some families who have had several students pass through our gates and it is always sad to lose such long-term figures from our school. To all my staff- a huge heart felt thank you to you all! Running a school is a big team effort and every person plays a significant role. Each and every person is valued and appreciated by me- the amazing administration team who are the first people you see each day, the SLSO’s who are there to support and guide our students in the classroom and the playground, our teaching staff who put an unmeasurable amount of love and dedication into ensuring that each child is achieving the best they possibly can, Alison in the canteen, Michael our groundsman, Ben our technology support, our school cleaners, our Breakfast Club Volunteers and our classroom volunteers. The school could not run without you so thanks for all you do! Lastly, please enjoy this extended family time together. Life flies by so quickly that we forget to take in the little moments. Find some time over the next six weeks to just be together and create some special memories. Read books, sing songs, cook together. Just enjoy that quality time with each other while you have it. Thank you for an amazing year. Stay safe, have a Merry Christmas and I will see you all back on the 2nd February 2026.

As Term 4 2025 comes to an close, 5-6A have been buzzing with energy and activity. From our Stage 3 Camp in Coffs Harbour, to High School Transition days, Concert rehearsals, Assembly items, and a whirlwind of other events, the class has taken every challenge and opportunity in stride. In the classroom, students have been diving into something a little futuristic—experimenting with educational AI to transform their hand-drawn illustrations into impressive 3D images and mini-movies. They’ve also been working collaboratively with KPA to produce our very own storybook, Cat and Elle, which has been a fantastic exercise in creativity and teamwork. To our students heading off to high school next year, I’d like to wish you all the very best—may your new adventures be exciting, and fulfilling. For those continuing on to Year 6, I’m genuinely looking forward to another lively, engaging year together. Mr Allen
