What We Do

The goal of Serenity is to provide skills building and risk reduction counseling to decrease the spread of HIV. Serenity provides HIV-positive clients, aged 16 and older and their families with case management & skills training to live productive and full lives while reducing the risk of transmission of HIV.

Intake Coordinator

Petersburg, Virginia

The Intake Coordinator is a professional who serves as the first point of contact for all clients of Serenity. They assist with registration, record client information, and provide administrative support for staff.

Job Duties

• Receives, evaluates, accepts and executes the initial client intake process to assure that client verification, assessment, teaching and the ongoing scheduling of client services occurs in a timely manner.
• Completes checklists for all referrals.
• Enters client's information into the database system and retrieves missing information from referral source.
• Communicates professionally through multiple means with all stakeholders.
• Works closely with community liaisons, case managers, social workers, and other professionals.
• Use attention to detail and knowledge of regulatory compliance to ensure accurate work and follow up.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma required; 2-year degree or certification in medical coding/billing preferred
• At least 1 year of relevant experience required
• Ability to use and troubleshoot desktop computer programs and applications
