What sort of people are we looking for?
Places on the Bristow Ireland SAR Technical Crew Cadet (Advanced Paramedic) programme are limited and highly sought-after.
The selection process includes an online application, interviews and presentations followed by a two-day selection event for successful applicants. This includes physical tests, pool tests and skills tests.
We are looking for the right men and women to become part of our close-knit team, people who can think clearly and deliver effective medical treatment in demanding conditions.
Successful SAR Technical Crew members must have strong risk-based decision making skills. They come with a 'don't quit' mentality and have a genuine passion for continued personal and professional development.
They must evaluate, plan and deliver patient treatment, extrication and transportation requirements, without supervision.
SAR Technical Crew members are team players and leaders; they must work autonomously and lead authoritatively.
The potential physical and emotional challenges of SAR tasking can be extreme. Technical Crews are Advanced Paramedics who are expected to deliver high quality, safe, effective and compassionate pre-hospital clinical care, in demanding circumstances.
