VIKINGS VS CHARGERS
The Chargers are a hard to trust team after losing 3 of the last 4 and barely beating the Dolphins, who lost by 30 to the browns. The Vikings looked like a great team in the 2nd half against the Eagles and the Chargers allow the 12th most 2nd half points, and the Vikings are 8th in 2nd half points per game. Even if the Chargers can get ahead in the 1st half the Vikings are a team that won’t give up. Justin Herbert is having an insane season averaging the 3rd most passing yards per game but he may struggle against a Vikings defense that allows the 8th least passing yards per game. The Chargers offense hasn’t been able to flow that well being 12th worst in points per game and the Vikings defense Is definitely one to stop that, being in the top 10 in points allowed. Dont underestimate this Vikings defense.
People are underestimating Carson Wentz. He hasn’t played bad at all. He is so good at getting a flowing drive when needed, and he is top 5 in passing yards per game. Top 5! Some people are mad that JJ McCarthy isnt starting but I am fine with it. So why are the Vikings losing? The Interceptions. The Chargers are top 10 in interceptions forced this year, and Carson has lots of yards but the Chargers are also are in the top 10 for least passing yards allowed. This may be bad for Wentz but it’s not. Wentz has already had a tough matchup against the Browns who allow the 3rd least passing yards per game, and the least team yards per game. Against the Browns Wentz had 230+ passing yards and an 100+ QBR. In my opinion Carson has proved that he still has it, and can light up this Chargers defense.
The Vikings offense has been able been middle of the pack being 15th in points per game and 20th in team yards per game. The Chargers definitely want to get back after 4 bad games. The Chargers are the 13th best team in pass rush win rate, and they will be looking to destroy a Vikings offensive line who is 22nd in pass block win rate, and has allowed the 3rd most sacks per game. Khalil Mack is now back and he had a sack last week against the Colts who are a team that allows the least sacks. If he can get a sack against the Colts surely he will against the Vikings.
