Colmore Junior School autumn term: week: 3

Highlights of the week

A Smooth Start and New Leaders

Another fantastic week at Colmore Junior School! The children continue to settle in wonderfully, adjusting to their new classrooms and teachers. We're also very proud to announce that our new Pupil Voice representatives have been elected across the school. They will be attending their first meetings soon to begin their important work.

Focus on Behaviour

A huge thank you to all the parents who have completed our behaviour questionnaire. Your time and feedback are greatly appreciated. Combined with the responses from our pupils and staff, this data will be a valuable tool for our upcoming audit as we continue to strive for a highly productive, purposeful, and safe learning, playing, and working environment for everyone.

Year 3 Poetry Workshop

To finish the week on a high note, our Year 3 pupils were treated to a well-received poetry workshop with the nationally renowned children's poet, Paul Cookson. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to be creative and explore the joy of poetry.

Have a wonderful weekend.

J Gale

4RK took part in a listening skills activity this week. They had to listen to step by step instructions to create these fantastic sea creatures!
Year 5 have started their work on the Ancient Greeks by exploring key time periods and comparing them to life in Britain at the same time.

Year 3 welcomed the performance poet Paul Cookson to their classrooms today. They carried out a workshop and created their own poems to be performed. It was great to hear the laughter coming from the classrooms!

In PPA computing this week, 3P explored the use of the paint programme and made comparisons between digital drawing and drawing by hand. Such lovely designs, well done 3P.
Year 6 have been practising group balances during gymnastics this week. They decided who would be the base and who would be the flyer to conduct a safe balance.
5B have been working hard on their maths presentation since joining Year 5. Their work was so impressive it just had to be shared.

Messages from the office

Where possible please make sure children are happy with their meals choices when selected ahead of time by parents. We have had a lot of children wanting to change their dinner choices with the office.
Please let the office know if there will be a change in adults collecting your child.

The newsletters are also accessible on the news section of our school website.
