My name is Alexa Scaglione, and I am a senior attending Farmingdale State College. Being a passionate sports enthusiast, I knew I wanted to center my project around sports in some way. Ever since I was little, I played soccer all the way through high school. It became a significant part of my life, and I knew I wanted to pursue it in college. However, I encountered difficulties in getting recruited because I lacked knowledge of the entire process. It was an intimidating feeling, particularly when I wasn’t sure where to begin. With some assistance from my friend’s dad, I managed to get recruited to SUNY Delhi. Going through this experience made me wonder how many other athletes in the world struggle with this problem. It left me feeling unsettled, and I wanted to change that.

When talking about the advertising done for Commence Athletics, the main goal is to target student-athletes who are interested in playing a sport in college. Alexa plans on reaching the target audience by advertising through social media and outdoor advertisements. Using platforms like Tik Tok and Instagram will help Alexa reach the audiences she wants by using these popular platforms. As far as outdoor advertisements Alexa has set up bus stop ads and a billboard on the LIE to allow drivers to see postings about Commence Athletics.

This retractable banner would be placed inside High-school gyms so that student athletes know that the facility exists and is available to them. Our team will also go down to high schools during the sports seasons and talk to each team about the process and how we can benefit them.
