Ysgol Tir Morfa - Newsletter Friday 2nd May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break. We’ve welcomed the pupils back to school and made the most of the wonderful sunshine this week.

We have lots of exciting activities planned for the summer term and we’ll share dates with you soon. As you can see great progress is being made with the construction of the Hydro Pool and we’re on track for completion in September.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend and we’ll see the pupils back on Tuesday.

Kind regards,

Susan H. Roberts

Headteacher

Our Week at Tir Morfa
Class Famau had a really interesting mindfulness and social communication lesson today with Young and Mindful CIC. They have been learning about the freedom that lies behind rules and how to cultivate a culture of kindness.
This week Dosbarth Tegid have been practicing their throwing and batting skills and playing some cricket outside.
Dosbarth Enfys have been exploring transport as part of our new theme ‘How do we get there?’
Alwen have started off their Seaside topic by making a large scale beach. One child placed labels for sea and sand. We enjoyed spraying water onto the powder paint and it cooled us down a bit too!
Tryfan students enjoyed a walk and social dinner to celebrate someone's 18th birthday. Exercise, money practice, good food and excellent company. A lovely day.
Dosbarth Brenig have a new Teaching Assistant on work experience in their class! He worked very hard with the pupils, and they loved having him as their role model. Bendigedig!
Findeg made the most of the sunny weather with a game of cricket in PE this week.
This week we have been reading the story “I went for a walk…” we really enjoyed exploring the colours of the animals in the story using paints. Whilst reading the story we practised our Makaton signs for the different animals and colours.
A quick stop to explore France on our magic carpet ride!
Dosbarth Aled have have started their new enterprise of growing plants to sell! They visited a local garden centre for some ideas, and have worked closely with Strawberry Fields Nursery close to school!
