Maths - We have continued our work on addition and subtraction this week. We used bar models to represent different sums before moving on to use number lines to help us add or subtract. Next week, we are going to have a go at column addition and subtraction.
English - We started a new topic this week – report writing! We looked at a few reports about different animals as a class and looked at different features that made the piece of writing a report. This included a title, sub-headings, paragraphs, pictures with a caption and even a did you know fact. On Friday, we started to plan our own reports that we will write next week.
Computing - We have been working super hard in computing this week to create animation! We had to use a website called Scratch in order to do this. First, we had a play around with games that have been made from other people and tried to figure out different commands/coding used to get the characters in the game to do stuff. Then, we worked in partners to create our own animation. We decided to show the 4 stages of fossilisation. We used a dinosaur as our sprite (2D image) and had to create codes to get it to show how fossilisation works. The children really enjoyed working together to create these animations!
P..E - We have continued to play dodgeball in P.E in different ways. This week, we were separated into two teams who competed against each other to collect the most bibs. We had to use the dodgeballs to get the other team out so that they couldn’t collect as many bibs as us.
Spanish - In Spanish this week, we have been learning numbers. We were really good at this as we always count in 1spanish during assembly! We were given Spanish numbers and had to put ourselves in the correct order before hiding a number and getting someone to guess which number was missing.
Thank you for reading our class blog!
