Kapla Workshop
Yesterday, Year 3 and 4 had a workshop run by Kapla who focus unique, 3D hands on learning around construction and structures. Each class created a section that contributed to a final monumental masterpiece. During their session, the children displayed resilience, perseverance, team work and creativity. Kapla are identical pine planks that are used for creative, gravity-based building without glue. Below is just a selection of photos - quite a feat of engineering and teamwork!
Fidget toys
We have explained to the children in assembly that fidget toys and devices brought from home are not suitable to be brought into school. Please can parents and carers support us with this and make sure children are not bringing them. Any child who requires a fidget will be provided with one by the class teacher, with terms of use explained to them. Thank you for your help with this.

Spotlight on Attendance 🔦
Please see below for the attendance figures for the last two weeks of last term. The overall school attendance dropped significantly to 92.9% in the last week before the holidays. Please can we remind everyone that every day in school is important and learning continues right up until the end of term. We understand that illnesses happen but some absences are avoidable. Please see the guidance below. There's lots to look forward to in the summer term, so make sure your child is in school to enjoy it!
Here are some reminder of how to support your child:
- Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
- Make appointments outside of school hours
- Use the "When is too ill too ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
- Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
- Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.
