- In compliance with a recent federal court order and guidance from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, all Texas public universities, including Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) are making required changes to in-state tuition eligibility beginning this Fall semester 2025. Be sure to review the changes and stay informed.

New Texas A&M University System Chancellor Meets with TAMIU Students, Faculty, Staff
Texas A&M University System Chancellor Glenn Hegar has hit the ground running...straight to TAMIU for a first-time, sit-down visit with TAMIU students, faculty, and staff.
Hegar officially assumed his duties as Chancellor of the A&M System July 1, and immediately set a priority to begin a whirlwind visit to all 11 campuses, including TAMIU.
TAMIU’s ‘Umatter’ Recharges Student Mental Health Resources
As part of its enduring commitment to health, TAMIU provides enrolled students a convenient way to prioritize their mental health...with “Umatter,” a free, confidential mental health care app as close as their smartphone.
The Umatter Health Student Support App provides TAMIU students with access to individual counseling, workshops, and a broad range of local and national crisis resources. It’s part of a commitment by The Texas A&M University System for all 12 of its campuses to affirm the importance of students’ mental health.
‘Bright Start’, ‘Night Start’ Offers Right Start this Fall at TAMIU
Beginning Monday, June 2, 2025, TAMIU will begin a limited Summer Schedule. Regular office hours will be from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday and from 8 a.m. – 12 noon on Friday. The Summer Schedule will remain in place through Friday, Aug. 8, 2025.

TAMIU SBDC Presents Workshop on HUB Certification, Contracting Process
TAMIU's Small Business Development Center will host a free Workshop, “HUB Ready: From Certification to Contracts,” on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 a.m. at the TAMIU Academic Innovation Center, Room 125.
Open to entrepreneurs and business owners across all industries, the Workshop is designed to help small businesses in Laredo and surrounding areas better understand the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) certification process and improve their ability to secure government contracts.
