Delaware launches full-fledged sports games

Delaware will begin full-scale sports game operations at three casinos in Delaware: The Casino at Delaware Park, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Harrington Raceway & Casino. Betting Tuesday includes a single-round contest and championship game for professional baseball, football, hockey, basketball, football, golf, and car racing.

The Delaware Treasury Department, in consultation with the attorney general's office, determined that there was no legal obstacle to proceeding with full-fledged sports betting in Delaware following the U.S. Supreme Court's May 14 decision to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act. Under a state law passed in 2009, Delaware can authorize professional and college sports betting except for games involving Delaware-based teams.

The Delaware Lottery has issued an online "How to Bet" guide to sportspick, a Delaware sports game product, to prepare and educate new consumers.

"Delaware has all the legal and regulatory powers necessary to drive full-fledged sports game operations, and we look forward to launching them next week," Gov. John Carney said. "We hope more visitors will be able to visit Delaware to see the state's services for themselves."

"We worked closely with three casinos in Delaware to train lottery and casino staff in preparation for the expansion of sports betting rollouts, and Delaware is ready to move forward," said Rick Geisenberger, Delaware's Treasury Secretary overseeing the Delaware Lottery. "We will continue to provide public updates and additional information through the Delaware Lottery ahead of next week's rollout." 슬롯사이트
