OV Boys Basketball Celebrates Senior Night

Vikings earn Senior Night Victory

On February 2, the Otselic Valley boys varsity basketball team hosted Manlius-Pebble Hill for a non-league matchup, making it a Senior Night to remember. After falling into an early 0-9 deficit, OV responded by rallying to take a 20-18 lead by the end of the first quarter, highlighted by a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Caleb Loomis. The team continued to build momentum in the second quarter, extending the lead to 39-34 with key baskets from Logan Foster.

In the third quarter, Lukas Schieferstein and Owen Davis led the offensive effort to push the lead to 60-43. The Vikings maintained control through the remainder of the game, securing a 76-66 victory. Leading scorers included Owen Davis with 27 points, Lukas Schieferstein with 26 points, Logan Foster with 8 points, and Caleb Loomis and Konyr Clemens with 7 points each. On the boards, Caleb Loomis, Logan Foster, and Alex each recorded six rebounds.

The evening also included recognition of OV varsity seniors Lukas Schieferstein, Owen Davis, Caleb Loomis, and Gage Foster for their contributions to the program. A special Senior Night thank you was extended to senior cheerleader Josie Guernsey, who has shared her talent by singing the National Anthem at many home games this season. Additionally, three OV players were recognized with banners celebrating their individual accomplishments - a proud moment for the program and community.
