CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA - "Viksit Bharat Toh Viksit Hum"

“Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breathing. It’s the rhythm of your life. It’s the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy.”, said the famous American ballet dancer and choreographer Jacques d’ Ambroise.

On 14th May, an electrifying showdown unfolded at Bal Bhavan Public School as students showcased their talents Cultural Extravaganza themed ‘Viksit Bharat, Vikshit Hum’. Viksit Bharat is not just a dream—it's a commitment to a brighter, inclusive future for all, where every individual is empowered to contribute to the nation's progress.

The event was adorned by the esteemed presence of our school dignitaries, adding a touch of grace to the evening. Captivating dance performances depicting Indian Diversity, Skill Education, Science and technology, Yoga, Sports and Paralympics, Skill India and Indian Armed Forces captured the essence and nuances of theme, transporting the audience into a realm where movement becomes poetry and rhythm becomes melody.

The enthusiastic learners embarked on each dance form was presented with a deep appreciation for its designated theme. Throughout the event, the students celebrated the joy, expression and unity that dance brings to our world. Their performances transcended language barriers, uniting the audience in appreciation of the beauty and diversity of dance forms.

School’s Principal Mr. Vividh Gupta, appreciated the efforts of the learners and emphasized on the importance of art education in nurturing creativity and expression.

WORKSHOP ON NCF(National Curriculum Framework)

On 22nd May, the teachers of BBPS from Classes Nursery to II got an opportunity to attend an insightful workshop on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), organized by CBSE. The workshop aimed to delve into the foundational principles, updates, and implications of the NCF, which serves as a guiding framework for educational practices and policies.

The respected Resource Person Ms. Deepti Sharma and Ms. Yashika Bhardwaj began with an exploration of the philosophical underpinnings of the NCF. It emphasized the importance of inclusive education, holistic development, and the integration of cultural and ethical values into the curriculum. Discussions highlighted how the NCF aims to foster critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility among learners.

The teachers engaged in discussions on the core subjects, interdisciplinary approaches, and the flexibility provided to schools and educators to adapt the curriculum to local contexts. The emphasis was placed on the shift from rote learning to competency-based education and the role of assessment in measuring holistic learning outcomes. Another significant aspect was the promotion of learner-centered pedagogies. The resource person shared best practices and case studies on how the NCF encourages innovative teaching methods, project-based learning, and collaborative approaches in classrooms. The focus was on nurturing 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

In conclusion, the workshop on the NCF provided an overview of its foundational principles, structure, and implications for educational practices. It fostered meaningful discussions among educators and stakeholders on promoting inclusive, learner-centered education that prepares students for the challenges of the 21st century. Moving forward, it is imperative to build on the insights gained from the workshop to further refine curriculum development, enhance teacher capacity, and promote equitable access to quality education.

AWAKENED CITIZENSHIP PROGRAMME

‘Empower, Engage, Evolve: Awakening Citizenship for a Better Tomorrow.”

The teachers of Bal Bhavan were privileged to attend the Awakening Citizenship Programme to recognise the infinite human potential and find out the best in them.

The objective of the workshop was how teachers can create ‘Awakened Citizens’ out of school-going children when they grow up and implement such activities in the classroom. The focus was to encourage teachers to help students stand on their own feet, face the challenges of life, and become truly enlightened citizens, irrespective of their academic achievements. The program taught teachers to enable the students to discover a tremendous sense of self-confidence and courage to face life squarely.

The teachers learned how they can make students an Awakened Citizen of the country through various activities and enjoyed the interactive session.

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM- STORYTELLING AS A PEDAGOGY

Narrative is the most effective means of introducing concepts to the students. For teachers in Grades Nursery to V, our school organized a Capacity Building Program on "Storytelling as a Pedagogy," which explored the power of storytelling as an engrossing tool.

The spokesperson Mr. Rajesh Kumar Thakur introduced various storytelling techniques to teachers, such as using exaggerated tones and expressions to captivate students' attention. The storytelling workshop for teachers was a highly engaging and informative event that provided valuable insights into the role of storytelling in education.

The workshop focused on how teachers can use storytelling to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom. Participants were given practical tips on incorporating storytelling into their lesson plans. The workshop also highlighted the importance of storytelling in building strong relationships with students and creating a positive learning environment.

Overall, the storytelling workshop was a great success and received positive feedback from the teachers who attended. Many teachers expressed their excitement to start implementing storytelling in their classrooms and shared their plans to incorporate storytelling activities into their curriculum.

EXCURSION NAINITAL TRIP

Exploring Nanital, Uttarakhand: A Journey of Discovery !

Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar Ph II, embarked on an unforgettable trip to Nainital, Uttarakhand in collaboration with Rocksport Pvt. Ltd. From May 18 to May 22, 2024 our students commenced their adventure odyssey to Nanital, immersing themselves in the wonders of nature and wildlife.

This excursion provided valuable learning opportunities as students indulged themselves in various activities such as rappelling, zip ling, a hike of 13kms to Cheena (Naina) peak, a night hike into the jungle to experience the beauty of nature and silence of wildlife. Such fun-filled activities provides thrills and also fosters various competencies.

During the hike to Naina peak, some students also collected plastic waste along the way and cleaning the environment. Such nature hikes promotes sustainable practices and a sense of protection towards the environment, while group activities promoted teamwork and collaboration.

As they returned to school, they carried with them memories of camaraderie, adventure, and discovery, reaffirming the value of experiential learning in shaping young minds. Overall, it was a fun-filled experience that provided entertainment and tranquillity. No wonder they're eagerly anticipating the next adventure! As the saying goes “seek experiences, not things".

YOGA - FOR SELF AND COMMUNITY

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self." - The Bhagavad Gita

The momentum for the International Yoga Day Celebrations had begun when students, parents and teachers all joined together on 21st June at Bal Bhavan Public School for a rejuvenating yoga session along with the benevolent presence of our esteemed Director Sir Shri B.B. Gupta.

Braving the sweltering heat of the Summers various yoga asanas and breathing exercises were performed under the guidance of yoga practitioners. The instructors explained the benefits of yoga and asanas, highlighting how regular practice can enhance strength and flexibility. Everyone enjoyed the preparatory yoga session wholeheartedly, and their efforts promise a memorable and impactful celebration.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION WITH TAIWAN STUDENTS

As India celebrated International Yoga day, every year on 21st June, the school initiated the start and it was for the fourth time, we organised a Yoga session for our foreign friend of our Partner school. This year the yoga session was attended by students of Taichung Phesin Jr. High School, Taiwan. With our students being the tutors and trainers for Yoga postures, the students of our partner school participated in the session enthusiastically performing the various yoga postures. We extend a heartfelt regards to our foreign friends in celebrating the Yoga day with us and promoting health and fitness.

MOTHER'S DAY

“Let’s make this Mother's Day memorable with moments that capture the true spirit of M.O.M.A.S- Where every smile and hug tells a story of endless love and devotion.”

Grade 3 students conducted the morning assembly on the theme 'Mother's Day,' emphasizing the significance and appreciating our mothers. During the assembly, students showcased their talents through dance and a skit that portrayed Edison’s journey—a valuable lesson learned from his mother, leading him to become a successful businessman and a better individual. Few students recited poem in which they showed gratitude toward their mother’s. The showed their immense love for their mother.

It was heartwarming to witness such enthusiasm and creativity from young minds!

FATHER'S DAY

“A father doesn’t tell you that he loves you, he shows you.”

The power of a DAD in a child’s life is unmatched. Our little flowers celebrated FATHER’S DAY on 16th June. The children enjoyed Father’s Day with full excitement. To make all the fathers feel special on Father’s Day, they showed their sweet gestures in different ways like they made greeting cards and did fireless cooking for them. They made sure that they did their best to show all their love for them.

They shared photos and videos with their father while celebrating these special moments. They seemed very happy to celebrate this special day. The love and bond between a dad and a child are unbreakable.

PICNIC DAY

“A picnic is more than eating a meal; it is a pleasurable state of mind.”

Picnics are one of the most exciting things that children love. The most awaited day of the year was the school picnic to our Bal Bhavanites. The students of class III, IV and V were taken to PVR, on 13th May 2024. They went to see, an exciting kid- friendly movie ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’. Students embraced the importance of compassion and empathy. They got a chance to dive into the lives of fictional characters and learn good moral values from them. Movie offered a treasure trove of invaluable life lessons. From mastering the art of kung fu to navigating the twists and turns of life, Po’s adventures provide a blueprint for success in life endeavours.

Our students were served with delicious snacks at the right interval. The movie engaged the students and was a significant break from their daily routine. It was a fun filled day with a great learning experience for them.

GRATITUDE DAY

“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.”

The little Bal Bhavanites celebrated a day of gratitude to acknowledge and appreciate the favours done by our helpers. Through their small acts the students expressed their devotion, thankfulness towards our helpers. The students of class III presented an assembly to celebrate the Gratitude Day where in the children presented beautiful thoughts in the form of enactment, dance songs rendered to express their love, intimacy, and deep sense of gratitude towards their teachers, helpers, parents, and peers.

READING WEEK

“Reading is dreaming with eyes wide open.”

Our little Bal Bhavanites celebrated Reading Week in honour of P.N. Panicker, the Father of the Library Movement in Kerala. This event aimed to promote the habit of reading among students. Students actively participated by summarizing and sharing their favourite stories. They highlighted the benefits of reading, such as boosting imagination and building knowledge.

The CBSE Reading App was a significant part of the activities, with students exploring and reading various stories, followed by sharing the moral lessons they had learned. After reading the stories, students engaged in a story mapping activity to deepen their understanding of the narrative structure and enhance their comprehension.

Reading week was celebrated to make students more empathetic, knowledgeable and to stimulate their imagination as it leads to overall wellness.

OCEAN DAY

"The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul."

The Ocean Day celebration was a wonderful way to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans and the diverse life forms they support. It also highlighted the creativity and enthusiasm of our young students, who brought the wonders of the ocean to the classroom.

The Class 2 students adorned in colourful costumes and delivered short presentations about their chosen creatures. From playful dolphins, graceful jellyfish to majestic octopus and other variety of animals representation was hugely impressive. The students used interesting props in depicting the ocean's rich and diverse ecosystem.

Through this activity, students gained a deeper appreciation for the diversity and complexity of ocean ecosystems. They learned about the crucial roles these animals play in maintaining the balance of marine habitats and the threats they face from pollution and climate change. This celebration not only highlighted the students' talents but also instilled in them a lasting commitment to environmental stewardship.

TECHNOLOGY DAY

“Technology is not just about machines; it’s about the human spirit that invents, connects, and improves.”

The little Bal Bhavanites celebrated Technology Day by participating in "My Dream Gadget Drawing" activity, where students from Grades I to V were encouraged to put their imagination on paper and design their ideal gadget.

The activity began with a brief introduction about the importance of creativity in technology. Teachers shared examples of innovative gadgets. Students drew their dream gadgets on a sheet. They were encouraged to think about problems they wanted to solve or features they would love to see in future technology. Students were invited to present their drawing of gadgets to their classmates. Each student explained their design, the functionality of their gadget, and the inspiration behind their idea. The activity saw high levels of engagement, with students eagerly discussing their ideas and providing feedback on each other's designs. It was heartening to see young minds thinking about the future of technology and coming up with solutions to everyday problems.

EBSB (ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS)

"Amidst the tranquil waters of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat echoes with the harmony of diverse cultures coming together as one, celebrating our unity in diversity."

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat is a noble initiative aimed at fostering national integration by celebrating India's cultural diversity.

The students of class III presented an assembly emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and national unity. They showcased the key features of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, including geographical features, cuisine, traditional dresses, culture, festivals, art, and craft. They dressed in the traditional attire of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The assembly was a resounding success, reinforcing the bonds of unity amidst diversity. It provided a platform for cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and appreciation of India's rich heritage. As participants departed with a deeper sense of national pride and cultural empathy, the event left a lasting impact on all who attended, fostering a stronger, more unified India.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

“Be it big or small, your actions matter’’

In this ever -changing environment, there is a need of hour to preserve our environment. So, to conserve and cherish its bountiful blessings, World Environment Day was observed by the students of Nursery to V.

The young warriors of Bal Bhavan Public School accelerated their actions towards the climate change to remind us of our responsibility, they stand united towards our planet Earth. Through the myriads of activities, from gardening galore to vibrant posters, from recycling to crafty creations. Bal Bhavanites immersed themselves to embark their handprints to secure it.

Eco- warriors marked the day with great fervour and zeal and pledged to make our environment greener, cleaner and pollution free.
