The Well Outreach

How our Christian food ministry impacts the community

The Student Jetpack Program

A key way that we connect with the schools in our community is through our Jetpack Program, which provides weekend meal bags to students who face food insecurity. Jetpacks are freely provided by local sponsors and delivered to your school and distributed every Friday to registered students.

Program Registration

Registration opens at the beginning of the school year but is open continuously through the school year by contacting your child's teacher or school counselor.

About The Well Outreach

The Well Outreach is a Christian food ministry primarily serving Maury and Williamson counties in Middle Tennessee. We have four core programs by which we serve the community:

  1. Food pantries - located in Spring Hill and Mount Pleasant, serving over 20,000 families a year
  2. Student Jetpack Program - providing weekend meal bags for students in food-insecure households at over 30 local schools
  3. Mobile Food Pantries - scheduled fifteen times a year on Saturday mornings during which we distribute 25,000 pounds of food from local school parking lots
  4. Family Coaching - providing financial counseling and relief to struggling families
We have four core pillars or programs by which we serve the community.

Food Pantries

Our two food pantries are at the center of our mission and ministry.  Our guests are welcomed with dignity and invited into conversation and prayer before shopping for food. The Well Outreach offers our guests the client-choice model, which allows them to select the food that they want as they are accompanied by their own personal shopper.

Our food pantries offer client choice for our guests.

Student Jetpack Program

Our Jetpack Program provides nutritious, non-perishable food to hungry children of food-deficient households for the weekend during the school year. More than 1400 students from over thirty local schools receive these backpacks every Friday.

Jetpacks are distributed every Friday to students.

Mobile Food Pantries

Our mobile food pantries are Saturday morning food distribution events that take place at local area high schools. We typically schedule more than a dozen of these from March through December as a means of providing additional access to food within the different communities we serve. We partner with Second Harvest Food Bank, which provides 25,000 pounds of food at each event.  Our staff and volunteers unload the truck and portion the food into individual servings, before loading them into cars that drive through the distribution area.

Our mobile food pantries distribute 25,000 pounds of food.

Family Coaching

The Well Outreach is a participant in the state of Tennessee's Our Chance program, helping families improve their living circumstances and move out of the cycle of poverty.

Our Family Coaching Center is located at our Spring Hill campus.

Volunteer With Us!

The Well Outreach is always blessed by and in need of volunteers! The over 400 volunteers that help us each week at our two food pantries are of all ages, backgrounds and locations. They come with church groups, civic groups, neighborhood groups, schools, businesses and charitable organizations. And they engage in impactful, productive activities of all types while they are helping us. There is something for everyone to do, regardless of age or physical capacity.

We are blessed by and in need of volunteers!
