December 8

Work, laundry, short walk around the RV park, Teresa did some chalk art on our site, then a trip into Fort Walton, a town about 14 miles away to go to Michaels to get the supplies Teresa needed for a couple of Christmas crafts she is making. Dinner, Hallmark movies, blogging and working on fun Christmas crafts. Night, night!

December 9

I worked on the blog while Teresa worked all day on Christmas crafts. They all turned out really cute. We are going to decorate the tree outside, so we will have a Christmas tree. We threw in several walks with the dog and the cat. I carried Maisie over my shoulder for a couple of the walks around the loop, as Maisie isn’t a good walker, but she sure is a good smeller.

Teresa is in her element getting to do all these crafts every day!!!

This campground is pretty small and it is set up in a loop right by the Gulf. It appears that walking around the circle is something everyone does here with or without a dog. We now know several of the dogs names, but none of the people’s names. Maisie is also very popular. Everyone has seen the catio with Maisie in it and then when they see her out on the leash they ask if that is the cat that is always in the catio. Sure enough. Then they find out her name and say hi to her each time we are out and they see her. They have no idea what my name is and I don’t know what their name is. It is kind of funny. We met a couple from Canada who are here for four months. They have a scottie dog named McKenzie. We actually introduced ourselves to each other. She right away said, “Okay, I will be honest. I did a memory game for Tilly and Maisie’s name, but I will forget your names right away! We laughed and said ditto! Why is it easier to remember the pets names?

It was a nice low key day. Oh, and I had ordered some new chocks that fit in between the tires. It is supposed to work better than the regular wheel chocks and it is supposed to help stop the movement of the trailer when you walk around. They were easy to install and we like them so far.

We had popcorn for dinner and, of course, watched Hallmark movies for the rest of the night!

December 10

Whoa, last night we had a doozy of a storm. The thunder was cracking, the lightning was lighting up the whole outside and the rain was coming down incredibly hard and really loud on the roof of the trailer and the vent covers. It went on for quite awhile too. I love these storms and had a smile on my face while watching the show outside.

Today we are supposed to get a bunch of rain, but when Teresa looked at the weather the forecast had changed. It is now going to be windy and cold. Boy, was it! We hung out in the trailer for most of the morning then Teresa went out to do some chalk art designs for our neighbors who requested a special chalk design by Teresa! She was so excited. After they asked her to do a design, she ran into the trailer saying, “I have a commission. They want a grinch design.” The RV about four down from us has their site all decorated in Grinch Christmas stuff. Once our neighbor, Shelley, McKenzie’s mom, found that out she wanted a design too. She chose a Snoopy design. Teresa is having a blast!

Shelly and McKenzie are on the right. Teresa is doing the Snoopy design she chose on her site. Harley is the other dog's name. I do not know her Mom's name.
Shelley, the happy recipient of Teresa's fun artwork!

The rest of the day we ran some errands, got some groceries and some more craft stuff for Christmas decorations, saw an awesome sunset, ate dinner, watched some TV until we couldn’t keep our eyes open any longer.

The pier and the beach to the right with all the colorful chairs is for us all to use and enjoy

I worked for most of the morning while Teresa took Tilly to a dog washing place to get all spiffy. After working, I fixed some stuff that needed fixing - the front door latch, some trim on the ceiling in two spots and reattaching the lounge chairs to the floor!

Teresa began to decorate the tree

I took Maisie on a long sniff fest/hunting spree today. It was so cute. She kept seeing these little lizards that are all over the campsite. She chased them into the bushes then she would sit and watch to see if they moved again. She had a blast!

The big lizard hunter!

This is looking left and right at the beach across the street from our campsite. We are going to walk to Santa Rosa Island that you see across this bay tomorrow. We can walk from here and over the bridge you see to the left in the first photo.

They have Bingo here at 6 pm, so we decided to go check it out. We got there right at 6 and everyone was already there ready to start, so they held up a bit, explained the ropes to us and made us feel welcome. We had a lot of fun. They play for two hours and the last round is a black out. Teresa won twice and I won once! We won $28 between the both of us! We recognized some of the people in the room and met a bunch more. Elaine, who is directly across from our site was one of the people that wanted a chalk design from Teresa, but needed some time to think about what she wanted. Well tonight she showed Teresa the design she chose. Teresa LOVES doing these designs and is so excited that others are asking her to do them at their campsites!!

Teresa and I have so much fun just kicking back in camp and not having to rush out to see everything there is to do in this area, fit in work, grocery shopping, blogging, cleaning, crafting and laundry all in a few days! We have 20 days to explore the area and we have been in no hurry. Boy, has that been nice!
