Hi, I'm Erica. Over the last couple of years, I spent a lot of time with birds. I have always appreciated biodiversity, and I've always loved birds, but having a camera with a halfway decent telephoto lens turned a hobby into passion project.
Here, you may enjoy photos of the 170+ species of birds I observed and photographed last year on my hikes and walkabouts, grouped together in the most scientific way I could manage (although imperfect in some cases). About 98% of these photos were taken in Southern California, but a few northeast birds are featured as well. Yes, it took time. Yes, it took concentration. Yes, it was really fun and at times almost magical. And yes, I will add to the photo gallery as I collect this year's favorite moments. Enjoy!
