Otselic Valley students recently took part in two field trips designed to support meaningful career exploration and help them discover future pathways. Seniors interested in nursing visited the Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Health, where they toured classrooms, explored the simulation lab, and practiced identifying safety concerns in a realistic medical setting. They also toured Le Moyne College, gaining insight into college life and the opportunities available to them after graduation.
Meanwhile, 9th graders with an interest in law enforcement attended Law Enforcement Day at SUNY Morrisville–Norwich. Through a hands-on mock crime scene, students stepped into the role of detectives and learned from police officers, detectives, 911 dispatchers, Assemblyman Joe Angelino, and SUNY Morrisville criminal justice students.
Across both trips, OV students asked thoughtful questions, explored a variety of career paths, and returned energized about their futures.
A special thank-you to Ms. Macrino, Academic and Career Coordinator, for organizing these valuable real-world learning experiences.
