Marc Summersett
Whenever I've walked away from a meeting smiling a little more than expected, chances are Marc Summersett had something to do with it. Marc has a special talent for bringing warmth and humor to any discussion and as our Industrial Lead, he delivers a rare blend of technical expertise, leadership, and genuine fun to the production floor– and his journey to InterLnX is just as dynamic as his personality.
Marc’s manufacturing career spans decades. He began in 1992 at Engineered Tools in Michigan as a janitor and steadily worked his way up to Cam Grinder Supervisor. From surface grinding in Frankenmuth to CNC OD/ID grinding in Saginaw, Marc consistently stepped into greater responsibility, gaining hands-on experience and earning the trust of those around him. Along the way, he ran a successful DJ business for 17 years (unsurprising to anyone who knows Marc, and winner of the unofficial InterLnX award for “Most Likely to Run a Successful DJ Business”). Marc moved to Arizona to run his own assisted living home for 23 years, but when covid hit, he found himself ready for a new chapter.
Marc’s path to InterLnX began during a major life transition. With prior shop experience and encouragement from his longtime friend John Culbert (featured in our last newsletter), Marc decided to apply and it didn’t take long for that decision to pay off for both sides.
Starting in the Aerospace Cell, Marc quickly proved he wasn’t one to stay in just one lane. He jumped in wherever he needed, learning every cell and supporting his team along the way. Within a year, his versatility and work ethic earned him a promotion to Industrial Lead.
Drawing on his background as an entertainer and leader, he excels at building strong teams and positive relationships. As the founder of Synergy Society, Marc helps plan fun, engaging group activities that give everyone a chance to relax and connect. One standout example more recently was our Thanksgiving party, where departments competed to create the best-looking turkey by dressing up a chosen teammate using preassembled arts-and-crafts kits (see photo below).
And if you didn’t know that January 19th is National Popcorn Day, you would if you worked here. In honor of the occasion, Marc organized a popcorn tasting featuring a wide range of flavors, from classic butter and kettle corn to Tutti Frutti and Chicago-style, giving everyone a chance to sample something new. My favorite turned out to be dill pickle.
Marc believes culture matters. Every morning, he brings energy, creativity, and a bit of fun to production meetings, helping set the tone for collaboration. As Marc puts it, “It’s been a pleasure implementing cool ideas that help build a culture people genuinely enjoy working in.”
Marc has his eyes firmly on the future and over the next year, he hopes to help the industrial team become even more efficient while maintaining high quality in an increasingly competitive market. When asked what else he’d like to share, Marc put it simply: after working in several shops, this is the one where he’s enjoyed the people, atmosphere, and work the most.

Cybersecurity Awareness Training Completed
InterLnX is proud to announce the successful completion of a company-wide Security Awareness Training to kick off the new year. The training, delivered by our managed IT service partner, Winsor Consulting Group, equipped our team with best practices for strong cyber hygiene– including identifying phishing attempts, implementing effective password practices, and understanding today’s evolving security landscape. Employees also explored how current cybersecurity threats impact both daily work and personal life, gained insight into how our environment is secured, and learned key concepts such as data preservation, attack surfaces and vectors, and the importance of protecting those who protect our systems. Engagement across the organization was excellent, sparking thoughtful discussion and reinforcing our shared responsibility for security. As we continue preparing for CMMC requirements, this training underscores our ongoing commitment to taking cybersecurity seriously. Protecting our data, and our customers’ data, remains a top priority, and this initiative was a significant and successful step forward. There was a ton of valuable information presented, and it was delightful to see how engaged and serious our team took the training.
