What We Learned and some predictions after Week 3** Week 3 of the NFL season is in the books, and with it came plenty of exciting games—some expected, others completely out of nowhere. From breakout performances to ongoing struggles, each team has shown where their season might be headed. Whether it's a rising rookie, a defense finding its identity, or a coaching decision that raised eyebrows, there's something to take away from every locker room. Here's some predictions and takeaways from Week 3
Bills: Their defense is enough to win a Super Bowl.
Yes, the Bills allowed 3 touchdowns to arguably one of the worst offenses in the NFL, but the Bills defense had an amazing performance with 5 TFLs, 3 deflected passes, an interception, and 25 QB pressures. They forced Tua to throw the game winning interception and this defense could be unstoppable this year.
Falcons: They are going through a horrible cycle.
The Falcons seem to be going through a horrible cycle. Let’s go back to 2022. Desmond Ridder was drafted by the falcons and Marcus Mariota was signed to start. Marcus Mariota started well but ended horribly and Ridder played the last few games. The next year Ridder played bad and it was done for him. Now let’s go to the present. Last year Penix was drafted to backup and Kirk Cousins was signed to start. Kirk started well but ended horribly and now Penix ended the season. Now it’s a 75% circle. What can finish the circle? Penix playing horribly. With this 2 interception performance let’s hope it doesn’t go full circle but it looks like it.
The Browns defense is top ten.
The Browns defense just did this against a team who blew out the lions and commanders: 5 sacks, 7 Qb hits, 6 TFLs, and a pick. Any offensive player is in trouble against this team. I sure won’t be starting any fantasy players against them. I believe this browns defense is currently a team that could win some games down the road.
Texans: Nico Collins will be a top 5 WR by the end the year.
Nico Collins just has everything to be a top 5 WR. He gets a lot of targets (He was in the top ten for receptions this week) and had over one-hundred yards, and has insane chemistry with CJ Stroud. Watching him play I think he is the best wide receiver nobody says is the best wide receiver.
The Vikings are guaranteed playoff contenders when healthy
What do I need to say if you watched the game? This team just won by 40+ without a starting QB. Jordan Mason averaged 7 yards a carry, had 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. But the real MVP was Isiah Rodger’s and his defense. 4 sacks, a pick six by Isiah Rodger’s, another interception by Josh mettulus, Two fumbles, one of them a touchdown by Isiah Rodger’s, and this team has a shot to win a division when fully healthy.
Patriots: If he isn’t already Drake Maye will be the best offensive player for them by the end of the year
This week in their loss Drake Maye faced a defense that had 5 sacks, and 8 Qb hits and he still managed to lead his team in rushing (45 yards and 6.5 per carry) and he had 2 touchdowns and 268 passing yards. Currently this year he is 5th in passing yards and 7th in touchdowns and will be a vital point in this patriots offense.
Rams: Puka Nacua will be an offensive player of the year candidate.
Puka Nacua is first in the league in yards and catches, and this year he averages ten catches, and one-hundred and eleven yards a game. That would give him on pace for 1887 yards, and 170 catches. That would be one of the greatest receiver seasons ever
Buccaneers: Emeka Egbuka will win offensive rookie of the year
Mike Evan’s is now injured so it’s all Emeka for the next few weeks. This year he is top 25 in receptions and receiving yards and this is a great thing for Baker too. Emeka Egbuka when targeted produces the 3rd highest QBR to Baker Mayfield. The Buccaneers are definitely a team to watch and Emeka Egbuka is certainly the player to watch.
Colts: They are a real contender for the playoffs
The Colts looked good after absolutely destroying the dolphins in week one but still they needed to prove themselves. After beating one of the NFLs best defenses they we’re real and they just dropped 40 in another game and Daniel Jones, Jonathon Taylor and the whole team really look like they could win the division.
Raiders: They have a great team built for the future.
After losing by 20 to the commanders the raiders don’t look like a team who can win know. They will most likely draft a rookie QB, and they already have Aston Jeanty, Brock Bowers, and know Tre Tucker looks like the future.
Chargers: They are the 3rd best team in the AFC
Obviously the Ravens and Bills are the best 2 but the Chargers are playing absolutely awesome. Omarion Hampton finally showed some hope with an amazing game and obviously Quentin Johnston has been great this year. But the real MVP of their team is Justin Herbert. He may be the MVP leader so far being first in passing yards and 3rd in passing touchdowns.
The NFC west is the 2nd most exciting division this year
Yes the Rams are superior but the rest is super exciting. This year the Seahawks are proving many wrong being 5th in points scored and 2nd best in points allowed. The undefeated 49ers on the other hand are 3rd best in points allowed and Ricky Pearsall despite having Mac Jones at QB is on pace for 1500 yards. Then the Cardinals are 5th in least points allowed and Kyler Murray is 4th in the league in QB rushing yards. This division will produce some exciting games.
Caleb Williams is ten times better than he was last year
Caleb Williams has looked a lot better with Ben Johnson and this game just proved that even farther. He had 4 TDs, 300 yards and had a near perfect QB rating. I hope this was just Williams playing great but the Cowboys don’t have a very good defense.
Ravens: Is John Harbaugh the problem?
I just don’t get it anymore. You have the best QB-Rb duo in football, you have a top 5 offensive line and you have the best secondary in the leauge and you have a great pass rush. This may be the best starting lineup in the NFL besides the Eagles and they are still performing like this. Yes they didn’t play bad against the Lions but they have to start winning games. The only thing that you can blame it on at this point is the coaching staff. Maybe it’s not Harbaugh but something is going on.
Giants: They need receivers badly
When I say they need receivers badly it isn’t about Malik Nabers playing poorly. Well he didn’t. He was being heavily covered some times being double covered and that’s because the Giants don’t have many other receivers. For example Cam Skattebo was the number one pass catcher for them this week. It may not be Russell Wilson’s fault for poor play.
