Principal's Message

As Spring Break begins, I extend my warm wishes for a restful and joyful time with your loved ones. Whether you're planning a getaway or enjoying some downtime at home, my hope is that this break rejuvenates you. Your ongoing support and dedication to our school community is deeply appreciated. Red Clay Health and Wellness Fair

This event is FREE! It's your golden opportunity to dive into a world of health, happiness, and overall goodness. From health screenings to community resources, this fair has it all. We've got activities for everyone, from the little ones to the adults, ensuring a day packed with fun, learning, and wellness. Indulge in delectable food, mental health support, and thrilling games to entertain the whole family. Rain or shine, we're bringing the joy to you! Join us at the back parking lot of Warner Elementary for a day filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories. Calling all families, friends, and neighbors – come one, come all to the Health & Wellness Fair! Together, let's make April 27th a day to remember as we prioritize our health and happiness. Planned with the expertise and care of our School District Nurses. See you there!

PTO

Please join us at our upcoming get together on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 7PM in the school library. We hope to see you there! Snacks & a Mom’s Day Basket will be raffled for all who attend! An extra raffle ticket for anyone who brings a friend!

Also, please mark your calendars for last meeting of this school year - May 9th! We will be holding Board elections at this meeting. Please email us at ConradRedwolvesPTO@gmail.com if you’re interested in possibly joining the Board or at least want more information about a position. We also will have a raffle for all who attend & an extra raffle ticket to all who bring a friend.

Help Needed

8th grade formal- The next planning meeting for the 8th Grade Formal is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11, 2024 at 6PM at Panera Bread (Kirkwood Hwy.). Please join us! (You do not need to have an 8th grader to help organize.)

Staff Appreciation - 1st week of May 2024 - The PTO wants to celebrate our wonderful Conrad Staff! We will be hosting a breakfast on Monday 5/6/2024 that we need items for and a Dessert Bar on Thursday, 5/9. Sign up here.

Donations: The PTO is still accepting general donations for the different things we support so if your child missed participating in the Penny Wars Fundraiser we just held, please consider sending in a donation via cash, check (payable to CSS PTO), or through CashApp - $ConradPTO or Venmo - @ConradPTO…(please note that it is a donation if using CashApp or Venmo).

Any amount REALLY helps. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization & we are able to send a tax letter upon request. Your money would help fund the many, many things we do or help support , but to name a few….teacher appreciation efforts, events at school, scholarships, grants for students, student groups, & school needs, senior gifts, etc.

Box Tops for Education

Please keep scanning those receipts for Box Tops. Just download the Box Tops app, pick Conrad PTO as your school, and scan each store receipt that has Box Tops items for Conrad to get credit for each of items you purchase. Box Tops send checks out quarterly. Thank you so much for scanning those receipts & please keep up the good work!

If you haven’t already, please join the Conrad Schools of Science PTO. Membership for the year is $10/person. By joining, you help fund some of our wonderful things we do for your students, the staff, & our school. (P.S. Becoming a member does not mean you’re signing up to volunteer for things.)

Get your Spirit Wear! Maybe your student is beginning to grow out of what they already have & is need of some new items? The Spirit Wear Online Sale is up & running now through April 10th. Items will be delivered before school ends.

Conrad's 13th Annual Biotech Fair

Students from Biotechnology II, III, and IV showcased their research and experiments, impressing guests with their findings. 10th graders presented their data enthusiastically, while 11th and 12th graders brought their research to life through experiments. Congratulations to Biotech teachers Ms. Nowak and Mr. Coughlin for organizing this inspiring event!

Congratulations to Mr. Frescoln!

Mr. Frescoln was awarded Delaware TSA Middle School Advisor of the Year!

Mr. Frescoln brought Conrad middle school TSA students to the Delaware Technology Student Association state competition at University of Delaware last week. Sri Vayuvegula received 3rd place in Dragster and Elliot Leigh, Rhyan McIntosh, and Devam Rajpura won 3rd place in Video Game Design. And Mr. Frescoln won TSA advisor of the year. Congratulations!

Vet assistants complete first blood draw

Vet assistant students did their first jugular blood draw on our goat, Bill. Four students (top right) learned to do an actual jugular blood draw today! A little nervous but they did great!

Physical Therapy students hold scavenger hunt

The senior Physical Therapy pathway students participated in their annual Athletic Training Month Instagram scavenger hunt! You can see all of the posts by the 4 teams by searching #SATScavengerHunt on Instagram.

Conrad Schools of Science has an On-Site Wellness Center which is staffed with a Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, a Registered Dietician, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Should you need any further information, don't hesitate to contact the Wellness Center at 302-992-5532.

Delaware HOSA State Leadership Conference

Congratulations to all of our HOSA members who competed at the Delaware HOSA State Leadership Conference this week. Students participated in round 2 of the following events:

  • Tyler Messick and Gannon Maccari - Health Career Display
  • Eva Sommers - Nurse Assisting
  • Matt O'Connor - Sports Medicine
  • Jada Green and Peyton Kott - Community Awareness
  • Selena Hernandez - Medical Reading **(Selena 3-peated winning the GOLD in Medical Reading for the third year in a row! She will go to Houston, Texas, in June to compete at the International Leadership Conference!)

Conrad was also recognized for having 52 student members of our chapter. We are looking forward to growing our chapter next year with even more members.

Prom Closet- now open!

HOSA will have its Formalwear Closet open again this spring! Students who need attire for the Prom or 8th Grade Formal are welcome to peruse the formalwear in room 112 during advisory (not on Wednesdays) or lunches from March 25 - April 12 and then again from April 29 - May 3. There are over 100 dresses of various sizes and design - strappy, strapless, long, short, beaded, beadless, and casual - as well as 25 pairs of shoes and accessories. Everything is FREE to our students. Check out some of our gorgeous gowns below.

Blue Gold Updates

The Blue-Gold Club would like to thank everyone who dressed down to support the DFRC. Money raised goes to support organizations that offer programs for Delaware children with intellectual disabilities.

Spring sports competitions have officially started! High School students started their competitions last week and Middle School started this week. We look forward to seeing our teams compete, learn and enhance their skills throughout the season! We encourage you to follow us on social media (see links below) to see score updates and other events for our athletes.

If you are a parent of a student-athlete we encourage you to join our Sports Boosters. Everything that Sports Boosters does for our students and school is invaluable and we would not be Conrad Athletics without them. Sports Boosters

The Conrad Sports Boosters is an organization comprised of Parents, Coaches, and the Athletics Department. They meet once a month to discuss and organize support for all of our Middle and High School Athletics Programs. We encourage anyone to come out and take part in the conversation to support our student athletes.

The next meeting will be Thursday, April 18 at 6:00 in the Library.

We also encourage you to use the apps of communication for your respective team as coaches will often communicate updates through those services.
